Accord 6 speed cs. Charger SRT8

Hmm...this was interesting. Ran into an SRT8 Charger tonight. We played around real quick and came to a light. Turned green quick, I got about a car on the launch. Once I shifted to 3rd he pulled pretty good, he must have been at the top of 2nd, and had me by slightly less than a car. At 100 I was at his rear bumper and neither was pulling. I was surprised to say the least.

nice race! me and my friend raced awhile back, he had a 06-07 charger r/t and i have a 07 tl auto. we did a 1/4-ish run a few times, and each time consistent results. we both launched even and i stayed with him all the way to the top of 2nd then he would just pull hard as hell outta no where and leave me...usually cut off around 80-85 ish, maybe i woulda came back near top end since that car is super ass heavy... but you kept up nice. good job.

Yea it was a really good run. I would've liked to see how it turned out at the top of 4th, but I wasn't gonna go that fast even though there were no cars in sight. I'm still surprised that I was at his rear bumper knowing they trap over 106mph. I'd guess from the addition of E/PCs/Intake manifold that I'd be in the 104mph range. Still surprised!

Nice, you lucky dog.

I've been looking to run one myself seeing how I've beat the base Hemi models. My luck I'll run in to one before I get my repairs done.

It's sad, all that hype and while fast . . . they're not as fast as they should be.

I'm sure you weren't nearly as surprised as HE was at seeing an Accord pacing his SRT8.

When I had the AV6, I did have a run in with a Charger RT on the Newark Bay Extension of the NJ Turnpike one night last year. Needless to say he walked me but it was not as hard as I thought it'd be. (I'm fairly confident that my son's Alti would readily return that favor. )

I'm sure the alty could. When my car was trapping 100-101, I was able to slowly walk away from a charger R/T with exhaust and tuning.

nice to see that you guys have some experience with these chargers. I've always felt intimidated by them for some reason and I have been both tailed and almost successfully baited into a roll from 50 on the 15. Plus, there's this yellow w/ black charger R/T down the street from me that's always trying me.. maybe one day . haha

And to F23A4 - I agree, I think that your son's alti 3.5 could beat the charger, if the opportunity ever arose . lol
