Accord '03-'06????....Same motor, same parts????

So I've only had my 07 tl base a few weeks now and I've noticed some of the parts for it are the same with the 03-06 accord. I understand the similarities in the motor but why are some parts compatible and others not? Seems to me that most should fit...especially the performance upgrades. That may be a stupid question but I'm trying to learn as much about these as possible. Thanks in advance

I imagine there are many common parts between the two cars. I know our Pilot shares many of the same engine & transmission related items as my TL.

I suggest that you go to BernardiParts.com or other web site that lets you look up part numbers and compare those part numbers when the need comes up. If you see the same part number for the two vehicles, you're good.

Most drivetrain parts are compatible between the 7G Accord (03-07) and the 3G TL (04-08). Some of the suspension and brake parts are compatible; however, the Accord and TSX are more similar in that regard.

The accord is literally a mix of a TSX and a TL. The v6 came out of the TL and so did the body's structure, the rest of the design like the suspension and such is straight off the TSX; that's why TSX and accord coilovers and strut bars and stuff work on them and not on the TL.

Yeah, the TSX, TL and Accord are all closely related.

The TL is derived from (and shares many mechanical parts with) the North American Honda Accord, which is in turn derived from the international Honda Accord, which is sold here as the Acura TSX.

The three are all basically the same car underneath. The NA Accord is basically just a slightly enlarged international Accord (TSX), and the TL is basically just a luxury version of the NA Accord.

The Honda Pilot, Ridgeline, and Odyssey are also distantly related to the TL since they are derived from the NA Accord platform.
