Accerleration help

When I start driving why does my car start off so sluggish. How do I get that pep in the beginning. Basically car feels heavy or sluggish at the start. Should I get a ur pulley. What else can I do. It kinda pisses me off when 4cylinder cars seem like they have a quicker start then my TL. I have a 2008 CBP TL. I've done the ecu thing. Still slow at start. Im sure there's a way to fix this without slamming down the pedal every time.

I guess nothing is wrong I just want my car to be quicker at start. I've just been reading about the app sensor and ur pulley and wanted to know if they are worth changing or not

you're going to have to provide more info other than...."it feels sluggish at start"

what kind of gas do you use?
do you have unnecessary weight in the vehicle?

our cars weigh about 3500lbs. it takes a lot for it to get moving. and it doesnt help that we dont make power until vtec.

from what I'm reading, there is not really a problem....

the problem is that you would like more TORQUE.
how to solve that? buy a vehicle that has torque at 2k RPM.

its kind of senseless to throw parts at it, if its not misbehaving.

how many dumbells do you keep in it?

try and shed some weight from the car...search "TL on a diet" thread in the performance section.

like justnspacecrabs said, it's a heavy car.

I think it has to do with wheel spin. Car must be rolling a bit before power comes on. Don't forget the wheels are pulling not pushing. If this bothers you trade it in for a RWD.

Down by your feet. The long, skinny pedal on the right? Push it harder.

Could be weather (warm/hot weather sucks); could be VSA/TC; could be your expectations are too high. You can throw some money at mods and maybe get a little improvement, but unless you go nuts, it'll never be the quickest car on the block.

Tighten the throttle cable. look it up. that should solve your problem. be forewarned that the cable is more likely to snap and there will be no slack for you to move slowly in heavy traffic.

my car feels the same way always... it has no low end torque whatsoever. I find it very boring to drive around... my wife's Altima feels more peppy on the road and I'm serious about that. I have all the bolt ons possible and nothing helped, I would love to get rid of it but i have invested so much into it that it doesn't make sense financially.

Lets say like this, until she warms up to normal temperature the torque is there and she feels much lighter on her feet but once warmed up everything just vanishes. It must be some sensor that i yet haven't changed but i guess I'm just chasing ghost's ! I would really love to fix the problem as i really like the car but that problem is really bothering me. The way the car looks you would think it would tear the road apart but you get disappointed rather quickly, at least in my situation.

I always fill up with Mobil 93 octane. An intake helps too but also check out this thread:

I was feeling my tl pedal a bit "heavy" felt like my throttle had disappeared. Read multiple posts abt the app sensor, throttle cable. Went ahead n pulled the cover where the throttle cable is attached on the firewall and to my surprised the cable had a lot of slack. Tightened that baby up and it made a huge difference. Car feels more peppier, more responsive and butt dyno feels like it pulls harder.(again only a feel lol)

already done it and changed the app sensor for a new one, but butt dyno doesnt say much

Supercharger i think would make it worse cause of the underhood temps rising even higher and that i think is one of the biggest issues with this car, heat soak!

I just switched my engine oil to castrol Edge titanium, been using mobil one for a while and mobil one extended performance last time but after the change the car seems to have a little more pep. But that seems to be the case with every new oil change....
