When you use your A/C, turn it off at least 1 or 2 minutes before you plan on turning your engine off. After you turn the A/C off, use the ventilation system with natural (unrecirculated) air until you reach your destination, and then turn it off, before you turn your engine off. Since your car stinks, you have to change the cabin filter. Also, spraying some Lysol (or other products) into your A/C main vent, which is below your winshield wipers under the hood, and into the vents inside the cabin, will help to neutralize the mildew which has been built up by your A/C evaporator.

I've been through this myself with the wife's car, as she always leaves her car A/C on. But if you want your A/C to steadily blow "clean" air, this is a no-no.

Absolutely correct. Use the recirculate feature at a minimum to avoid condensation buildup. And like prince said, turn the system off several miles before you get to your destination and run your fan on high to remove some of the moisture from the evaporator coil.

I can't imagine it is. It's pretty common with Honda products.
