Welcome to Azine, Mattori!

Definitely use the search (before you get flamed)...however, since you're a noob (which i was as well), a little help won't hurt!

Here's the link to what you're looking for:

Good luck, and hope this helps !

Come on, give the guy a break.

Welcome aboard and we're glad you're with us. Use the link supplied and the search and you will turn up all you need for this little project.. which is a royal pain in the butt. Very bad design. But, hey... we do what we must do.

I changed the filters on both my 06 TL and 01 Odyssey. the TL is 10x easier... on the Ody, I had to remove kick panel, take off glove box, cut out a plastic piece, then remove a metal bar, which has a very hard to reach bolt.

No apology necessary!

If you do this a couple times, you'll learn to do the whole thing in 10-15 minutes.

Yes, I can do this in both of my 3G TL's in under 30-40 minutes (generally). But it's still a pain in the butt and a VERY poor design. All the design engineers would have had to do was to have designed an access panel in the the glove box housing which is easily removable, thereby exposing the door to the filter. This is what a lot of dealer mechanics do when they get a TL in for this service. But they don't install any sort of panel (since there isn't such an animal). They cut a hole in the rear of the housing so that the next time the customer comes in, it's all of a 5 minute, no fuss job. Quite a few of the members on this site have done the same thing.

I really hope a dealer tech would not hack up the car. I replaced my filter in my 07 type-S and it was extremely easy. It took me 10 minutes tops to do it the right way without cutting anything. I don't understand why people find this so difficult...

I can do my '05 in less that 10 minutes and and my '04 in less than 15. But it is still a horrible design. Nothing like some other cars I've owned with cabin filters (Ford Contour comes to mind).

As for dealer mechanics cutting a whole in the rear of the glove box housing, a parts guy at Pohanka Acura told me this.

Did this yesterday for the first time. Really simple, although a pain in the butt. Just be careful and pull from the right side slowly.

Thank you again for all the infos. I did this today in 45 minutes. Did that carefully, don't want to break any clips. The old filter was replaced by the dealer 20k miles ago and it was look pretty dirty. Dealer charged me 80 bucks for that. And today I just save 65 bucks, thank you agaim to you all.
