A4 Service Soon
I change my oil every 5000 miles so I went to reset my oil reminder, I am at 40% oil life but I see "A4 Service soon" I thought "A" was for change oil. What is the "4" for?
Yes, I tried to search.

Do you not have an owner's manual?
"1" is rotate tires, can't honestly remember how often that comes. I always just rotate tires every oil change, regardless of the MID
"2" I think comes every 4th oil change or 30K, not sure. Filter change is sooner (15K) for dusty conditions....
"3" is transmission oil change. Somewhere beyond 60K miles (60K is for harsh conditions). However, most folks with ATs get the Acura crap fluid out of the case as soon as possible...
"4" is timing belt/spark plug change, inspect valve clearance. Usually comes around 105K
"5" is engine coolant. Heck if I know, I'm at 103K and I haven't got it yet. I did go ahead and flush my system at the 5 year point...probably overkill....

I have sold my house so it is packed in a box somewhere. I took it out of the car one day and left it on my desk.
107,XXX. I had a 4 car garage with a lift but now it's gone. I will build a new garage at the new house. I am trying to find time to do it over my friends house before the belt breaks Otherwise I will spend the money to have it replaced.
The "A4" never showed up until I was trying to reset the oil reminder, I thought it would have shown up by now.

Was just wondering how close to 105k your "4" service showed up.
BTW -there ahve been numerous Honda and Acura dealers running Timing Belt Service specials. SOmething like $389 - $499 instead of the typical $800 - $1200.
Check a few pages here in the 3G Sub-forum for threads and/or ask around at local dealers.

the overexplainer
Our engines are designed to be maintenance free for ~100-105k miles (minus inspections/filter/fluid changes). Not surprising if you're at that mileage.

WTF?!! Uhmm, I'm at work right now, so I can't check it till later tonight, but I also got a message that I believe says A4 on my 2008 TL. Now I have about 1500 more miles left till the next oil change, according to the little service sticky on the window, but my MID is saying A4 when I turn the car on, and my oil life is at <15%. And on the acuralink message center, in the Navi, it just said to have my tires rotated with the oil change. Nothing about a timing belt, or the 105k service. Fudge! What's going on?!! I only have 40k on my TL, that I bought about 2 months ago. Can anyone help. I will confirm about the actual message later tonight. Are the codes in the 08 TL different than the previous years. Hope I didn't get screwed, I bought the car from a dealership, with 38k miles. Damn, I hope everything is alright...OP, sorry hope I didn't hijack your thread. Anyone, really appreciate any info, Thanks!

OK nooobody Panic! It's ok everybody. It's ok. Everything is under control! False alarm. The MID says A1 service, which according to the manual is correct for what the acuralink is stating. Whew! sorry for the scare.
