8k mile ASM Type-S for anyone looking

I was browsing craigslist for fun and ran into this:

http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/3304399847.html

Not sure if the mods justifies its 30k prictag but for someone who wants a really low mileage/ mint TL-S it might seem worth it.

Awesome car and honestly the work done isn't over the top and it's reversible. But as stated, $30k is A LOT.

if it was a 6spd then 30k would be the most

M3 would be more in the shop than on the road

Factor in $900+ to replace the idiotic smoked headlights and fog lights.

That's only if they used film tint. If the owner used nightshades, or similar smoke black paint, it's essentially permanent.

Hopefully they used film tint, but nightshades has been getting more popular due to it being cheap and easy.

I am always suspicious of low mileage.
Why would you buy this beauty just to mod it and keep it garaged? Makes no sense.

Must be a member here? May have been a show car? If it was a manual it would have been sold already.

Yeah but why would you? Get nickeled and dimed on everything, even oil changes. Those cars require 10w60 which you can't even buy in stores - either online or direct from BMW dealership @ minimum $14.50 per quart, lol. And god help you if you want to get Redline or other premium brand.

If I was gonna throw money away and pay 30k for that TL, I'd be much happier doing that than buying an E92 for $38 or 39k that's gonna cost me a lot more money in the long run. Very high $30's will get you an E92 with 40-50k miles....I would lease an E92 before I ever bought one used with that mileage.

But I digress - OP, stay away from that one, the guy wants way too much. He wants so much that I would find it offensive to even try to negotiate with him because of how ridiculous his price is from the outset.

If someone really likes these cars and want one in mint condition, I could see why someone might buy it. Maybe for $25,000 - $27,000 though. $30,000 is a bit pricey considering what else you could get for that price.

That was my first thought. With an automatic he will probably be sitting on it for a while.

Is a car located in the Boston area susceptible to more rust than average?
