Here is another 2006 6MT example. 281,000 miles w/ on worn out key and no transmitter. Every seat is ripped to shreds and has a current pre-bid price of $1,850. IAAI.com has $2,700 cash value on this car.
These are insane prices for what you buying. This doesn also factor in the cost of transport, or documentation fees for purchasing the vehicle ($250), or the "licensed dealer fee" for the homie buying it for you.
Found 1 Type-S being sold by an insurence company in the USA. Actual cash value of $6,661 with 170,000 miles. For a smashed Type-S 6MT with a salvaged title.
Think about it. This car will at the MINIMUM need a new Fender, Type-S bumper and supporting trims($110 tow hook plug too), Type-S Headlight, Hood with Type-S trim, at LEAST three Airbags($600-$1100) each. Power steering reservoir, Radiator Support, Radiator, Crash bar(including the hard plastic one), after so many thousands of dollars you still have to pay to have it painted.
If this was purely a parts car, many of the Type S parts were ruined, Bumper, headlight(better sold in pairs), seats, dash. It makes more sense to buy a non-type S and part it out.
These are valuable sites to see what cars at thier worst point are worth, which is a great indicater of current worth and most importantly future pricing.
I purchased a 2007 S-Class 4MATIC from here six years ago with less damage than this and paid nearly the same amount.

I feel pretty satisfied on what I paid for my car. 259k for $3400 very clean interior and exterior besides the passenger and drivers seat being kind of worn but not to bad. Nothing like these pictures. I paid cash to a private owner who owned it for 8 years. Needs a clutch kit but if I don't get into the high revs it's still silky smooth. Bought it a couple months ago.
