Probably just so that they have extra on hand or for next tranny change. A buddy and i both did the transmission fluid on our TL's this weekend. just a simple drain and refill with the GMSMFM... was very easy and the stuff works great

As long as you have the car level to drain it out, theres really no point to doing a drain and refill, repeat. Automatics are the only ones you would need to do that to...
