Question 6MT Brake Pads - now many brands to choose from

In the last couple months I've been hunting down replacement pads for the Brembos on my 6MT and came across some interesting finds. There are now many manufacturers making pads for the 6 speed TL with a range of prices from $30 to $300.

Anyone have good or bad experience with Wagner Thermoquiet or Axxis Deluxe brake pads ?

Would you prefer:
Brembos for $90
Axxis for $50
Wagner for $30

neither.....I'd get Hawk pads just cuz I had a great experience with them on my S2000 which saw extremely hard street driving, and an occasional autocross. With 4x,000 miles, they were still holding up awesome when I sold the car.

Just preference though. Axxis makes awesome pads too!

Rotex Kevlars are great pads. Those and the hawks seem to be the two favorites. I can say that the Rotex has almost NO brake dust issues like the stock pads... I drove about 600 miles right after changing the pads and there was no difference between the front rims and rear rims...

Dont skimp out and get a $30 pair of pads.... keep in mind these are what you will use in everyday driving and in an emergency. I have always thought it was better to spend more for something better that plays that big of a role....

good retail site:

http://www.brakewarehouse.com/

Give them a call and they will help you out over the phone.... they are a very good company. Had my pads in 2 days...

Oh.. one more thing... DO NOT pay someone to change the pads for you. If you can take a tire off, then you can change your pads. I cannot tell you how incredibly easy it is...

You ought to read these two threads for more info....

Trust us... look at the site, get the info you need (type of pads you want) then call them. They have the TL parts, they just dont list them on their site...

Jim,

With respect to the Rotex vs. the stock Brembos, how is stopping power and squealing? Thanks.

Though they may carry pads for the 3G TL, http://brakewarehouse.com still only lists for up to 2003 TL when you do a search on 2004, 5, or 6. We're almost into the 4th year of the 3G TL, what gives with them?
