Just wnat to see if anyone knows how hard is it to change out the stock HID bulb on the 06 TL? I am thinking about changing that out, but the small space makes me wonder........

Thanks Actros... I'm joining the SC club too! on the way from blkypanman.

Yep, piece o cake. 6000K d2s bulbs in the headlights, and 3000K HID fogs. Hotness

Actually, there's a great article in the 3G garage from DCC that explains how to remove the and replace the bulbs through the fenderliners, without having to remove your bumper/headlights.:

Well you know what they say, better late than never, enjoy, it's on of those mods, no no the mod, that transforms the car from a nice behaving sedan to a kind monster.

That rules eh?...

I wish I could swap some of my labor for your headlight clearing skills. Your headlight job is by far the best I've seen. Hook me up Ding!

Thanks! i am really proud of how if came out. I have done a bunch of headlamps work in the past and i'm a perfectionist. The smallest paint drip (you can barely see), a finger print or smudge on the lenses all pisses me off. On these lamps however, they are 100% falwless.

I actually haven't even driven with my 3000K's at night yet, i think tonight will be the first. I really can't wait to get that hamsar relay so i can run them independantly.

BTW, do you have some kind of illustration or pic as to where i can pick up the red/black parking lamp light power wire?

I'd use a circuit tester and pick up the parking lamp + right from the connector. You can hit it right through the front fenderliner.

My camera takes miserable night pictures because of glare, but here are few "attempts" of the 6000K mains and the 3000K fogs:

kennedy, do you think that 3000K fogs with 4300K (stock) main beams would help me with visibility in the fog over the stock steup of halogens and 4300K mains?

Questionable...
HID fogs are for show.

See the glare they introduce? It's the crazy yellow light patterns you see on the ground.

That glare you see has a tendency to bounce of off the fog and back into your face... It happens becasue the reflector is misalaigned with the bulb (which was designed for a halogen).
This "glare issue" is also the reason HID retro's are illegal.

I seldom drive in fog, and like the extra light I get down the road... and it looks cool.

If you're really fighting the fog, I think a nice set of yellow halogens would be your best bet.
