6.0 GTO Just for Grins vs Modded 02 TLS
Ok, since I was trolling the forum today, I thought I'd post a little perk for all us TLers.
At an area wide meet of cars from all walks of life, I got to see how I match up against a stock 6.0 GTO. The GTO was messing with a couple of 3rd gen TLs behind me while I was wanting to put some hurt on a Maxima . . . especially since a lot of them like talking smack about us.
Anyway, the Maxima won't slow down and let me get beside him and that's when I notice the GTO and 2 TLs closing from behind. The GTO has past them and pulls up next to me and slows down. I notice he has a girl in the front seat , but since we're on a 3 lane road, it's late and the coast is clear for a long ways . . I decide it's time to have some fun.
We slow down to about 45mph - enough for me to get in to 2nd gear. We both get on it and to my surprise I'm slowly pulling on him until I shift into 3rd. His front end is just past my rear tire, so not quite a car length. In 3rd gear he starts to make a very slow come back . . by time we let off around 95-100mph his front end is even with my front door. If we would have kept going he would have caught me when I got in to 4th gear. It's a good thing there was some traffic ahead and we had to stop because I get the win.
No video, but I did have witnesses in the TLs.
Anyway, this run helps back up the win I had against the BMW 550i a few months back. Now I'm really anxious to get to the track and see how much my times have improved over my last runs where I ran 14.4. And of course that was before all my recent mods. (Ceramic coated headers, hiflow Cat, Performance Motor Mounts, bored out intake and throttle bodies).

Hmm.......I'm assuming since it's your 3rd tranny your'e auto...4spd nonetheless. Was the GTO auto too? I have a hard time believing you were neck and neck with the 6.0 GTO. If it were a 5.7, it'd be more believable. But hey, anything can happen on the street. With your recent mods, it should put you around the 14 flat mark, maybe even squeeze into the 13s. Still slower than the 6.0 GTOs but...Nice kill

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was an automatic . . his shifts were too smooth. As for being a 6.0, well he could have rebadged it with 6.0 insignias. And as for my times, I am hoping to be in the 14.0 range at a minimum . . . 13s would be way sweet as there's still some more I can do . . but it'll be a while as cash is a problem till I get a job . . some day. And when the engine goes . . . it'll get a 3.5 build with some more tweaks and I expect to be in the low 13s without NOS or boost . . . that's the goal anyway.

I don't know man, I'm in LS1 forum and those are pretty fast cars.

Also saw a stock auto on Dragtimes that got 13.4 @ 103.7mph and your time is nowhere near it.
Good kill nonetheless..!

. . . and note you are comparing some of the top prep'd track times to my old times . . . which are much better than the 14.4s I ran before all the mods, so I'm easily with in a sec of those times, maybe even 1/2 sec .
And as you know, times that are less than 1 sec different don't mean anything on the street. Well . . . they don't even mean that much at the track either as I've beaten faster cars at the track too. My fav was a G35C with a supercharger . . . the looks on his teams face when I came back with the win . . . priceless.

I've ran a few goats, 5.7 and 6.0. The ls1 is more than likely the one you raced, down at the texas motorplex I lined up with a ls1 auto and he ran a low 14. Granted it was hot out and he had a bad launch, but still would be a believable kill for you. The 6.0 ls2 goats are fun to mess with, and if they are bone stock I'm just about even with them. They are deep into the 13s or better stock. If they throw in just a tune and/or a few mods they haul ass, which i've found out a time or two.
