50/50 With Accord SI

Did a couple runs with an accord SI... pretty damn quick... I beat him the first time right off the line, then the second time I had it in SS right away and misshifted.... (newb!) and then the third I had to get my cup of ice cream from Culvers that was being "held" in my cup holder... lol so i let him have that one... but damn those things are quick... he had a stick tho i think against my 5at... even tho... didnt imagine it to be THAT quick

hmmMm... Accord SI? isnt it Civic SI? They are quick, But not enough to keep up with the 3G. Manual SI can hang with you from the DIG til the End of 2nd Gear, Than the race is all yours on 3rd. Try again and this time Concentrate

lol... idk... it MAY have been a civic... but im willing to bet my pink slip it was an accord... if anything he prolly put the SI badge on the back lol.... and yeah, i needa concentrate... but i have a full trunk (no lie - im in the process of moving out) with a bunch of stuff from shopping in the back seat and one hand haha.... thats why i wasnt taking it toooo seriously... i just wanted to see how he ran. i made up for it tho... i met up with a red TL and we ran for a little while... neck and neck of course LMAO

lol if a civic si, then it greatly depends on the drivers for the first couple of gears, then after that you will have no problem. If it's an accord V6, then it will only be marginally slower than you, and if it's 6mt, then you will most likely lose.

The Accord has a standard 5MT in the 4 cylinder models and optional 6MT in the V6.

How do you guys usually hold up against the 7th gen accords? Everytime I race my friend, I usually have him by a car (with my 19's on....haven't raced on my stock wheels) but everyone thinks i should have him by more than that. He gate shifts though...He has an 03' AV6 auto with AEM V2........all i have is an AEM intake on my 3G TL(performance-wise)

Performance wise the 03 AV6 auto and the 05 TL Auto like yours are very close. Here is a link for you to look at. Stevtec on our website came up with these stats and it was very interesting to see. He spent alot of time on it. Check it out!http://www./forums/showthread.php?t=22904

The best time with just Intake on a 03 AV6 auto is 14.5@97MPH with a 2.3 60ft. Not too shabby.

For some reason the thread wont allow me to post the sites full name. It should say .net before the word forums and then the site will work.

The thread won't allow me to type in our websites name before the word forums. V6 performance is the website and then type in .net after the word performance.

Indeed, SteVTEC is someone for whom I have MUCH respect. As we both were 6G Accord owners and then later Maxima owners, a lot of my forum curcuits put me in contact with him on many occassions. I typically learn a good tidbit or two from Steve each time.

If only I could put that fourth gear from the AV6 accord into the TL tranny, that would net a good gain in acceleration in fourth.
