3rd Gen problems

Looking at picking up a 3rd gen. Is there a thread that gives overview of the 3rd gen differences by year and problems associated with those years? I looked at the some of the sticky and SB but they don't really tell the whole story.

You can use the same search function that anybody who answers this question would have to look at.......

As far as problems, most of the cars are trouble free, but do some research and you'll find that like any make, you'll see problems discussed.

Bring earplugs. Interior rattles beware...

the only known issues are for 3rd gear for 6MT and I think this was for 04-06 and the power steering. other than that 3rd Gen is a great reliable car.

the 3rd gen has a lot of little issues IMO, but nothing major like the tranny like the 2nd gen
issues include things such as ... rattles, side mirror not tilting, bluetooth problems, 3rd popping out on 6mts, lights going on fast in the dash, butt prints in the 04 tl front seats, and thats all i can think of off the top of my mind.

but as you can see they are all pretty minor and shouldnt affect the drivability of the car

My 06 auto was pretty much flawless until this week when the tranny just went out. see my thread "another one bites the dust" So between our Odyssey and now the TL that have essentially the same drivetrain we have had to replace both transmissions! At least they were under warranty. The TL just made it under the warranty by +500 miles thank goodness.

The trannys are a bit "sensitive" so to speak, but they're not unreliable by any means.
