Is 3M window a film a good alternative?

Has anyone out the had 3M color stable film installed on their TL? Most people on this forum seem to use either Huber Optic of F1 but in speaking with a few 3M installers it seems as though it is really good stuff. It gets its color from black carbon as opposed to metal or ceramic so the color is a more pure black without the slight greenish hues of the other tints. The installed price with moleskins on all doors and the rear window is $250.00. What do you think? The FI runs $300.00-425.00 and Huber was $450.00 plus.

Talking

I have been very happy with the 3M tint. Having the Navi, this was recommended to me and was not as expensive as some of the other non metallic tints. In Florida, tint is nearly mandatory to keep cool.

I have noticed no degradation in the tint color. I had mine installed 7 months ago. I am unsure if the film is a few mils thicker, but it took a good 2 weeks for all the distortions to work out the rear window along the defroster lines. The installer advised me to park it in the sun a few days, which I did, and it cleared up. Last, I did not invest in moleskin, and have not scratches,,,,yet.

There are a couple more folks who have had 3M CS film installed. Another thing to remember is 3M has been in this business a long time and their products are continually improving. Click here for more info.

That's great to hear! This product because of it's color being more grayish/black as opposed to greenish will go well with my anthractie gray!
