3M Clear Bra Satisfaction

So I'm thinkin' of getting the clear bra installed on my entire front end and wondering how saisfied TL owners are of it. Would you guys do it again?

Also, did you do the headlights? I don't want my headlights getting that yellow haze. BTW: Will this degrade the HIDs?

I had the 3m bra installed for 700 on my NBP 07-S . I definately would do it again. Only thing is if your car is black you will need to keep the car really clean . Any signs of dirt on that film will brin out the lines . Definately helps on the long highway roads.

headlight yes
buy the stuff in a sheet and put some in front of the rear tires to protect from rocks, and on the trunk and rear bumper top- cuts down on scuffs from items like luggage placed on the bumper, and the cats cant scratch the trunk top!

I've had my PPF for over 3 years and the front end of my 04 AM is still pristine. No hesitation doing it again and well worth the investment.

Yea, the headlight protection is thicker than what's applied to the vehicle, will not yellow and has no degradation whatsoever.

Absolutely, I will never own another car and not have it installed. It is one of the best investments you can make to ensure pristine paint.

There is a 6mil thick and 8 mil, which is more protection but can be difficult to apply in winter due to ambient application temps and working with the material.
Ask a few shops- look in the phone book and check prices in the next few exits down the freeway. Location can increase overhead and you pay for that

For the DIY person who works with decals or window tinting- you can buy the stuff on the bay for $25-35 for basic kit, and about $60 for full kit and extra for the areas I listed before

I have been very happy with the clear bra. I put mine on 2 days after my car was new and would do it again!

I know it is best to put it on right after buying car because paint has no rock/depris damage, but can you still put on after a year or so......not to familar with clear bra!

Where do you get it from? The dealer? I bought my car a week ago and I am thinking of putting that on.

Dealers usually just outsource the work and then mark up the price. Your best bet is to take it to a local shop that's known for quality ClearBra work.

As for the brand used, (dare I say it) they're usually about the same give or take a mil or few. In the whole scheme of things it doesn't really matter.

Just find a shop that's known for installing them and make sure they back you with atleast atleast a 3 year warranty.
