Hi everyone, thought I'd introduce myself. Bought my 04 SSM TL ~6 months ago and have been lurking on azine since. This really is an excellent community here and has helped me a lot with my car. Plan to do a number of mods but am having real trouble finding the spare time!

Anyway, I'm currently thinking of getting the a-spec suspension, and so I was talking to the dealer (acura of troy) while getting some tsb's done and to my surprise he strongly recommended that I stick with stock! I thought he'd be delighted for more business but he said that in his opinion the MI roads are way too harsh for the setup. Just wondering if any members here have installed the a-spec in michigan and what their impressions were?

Also, any good installers/auto shops anyone would recommend?

PS-I love the TL.

 

I don't know what ur dealer is talking about. Aspec is about a .25"-.5" drop. Rides great and no scraping.

 

I've got an A-Spec suspension along with a Comptech Sway Bar in West Michigan. I drove this setup for a week before I swapped my stock 17 Rims for 18's. My initial impression was the 18's introduced more "harshness" than the suspension change.

I run snow tires in the winter, and I have never had a problem getting anywhere. In fact, unless the snow is really deep, I would rather drive my car than my Wife's MDX that has all season tires.
