has anyone wired neon tubes/leds to the trunk light so that when the trunk is open the lights come on?

me and a buddy of mine tried doing this last night but we were unsuccessful.

 

You just tap the power and ground wires of the trunk light.

If you guys did this correctly, maybe you should stay away from wiring altogether

 

I would think it would be pretty straight forward. Hot to hot, ground to ground. So, your saying you only want the lights to come on when you open the trunk? I'm assuming they are only going to be in the trunk to alluminate it when you open the lid.

 

+1 to the previous posts, its such an easy job that if you have to ask, you might not be qualified to do this yourself.

i have white ccfl's in my trunk mounted very clean and all i get are compliments on them all day. its so bright and looks really good.

yea you would think now wouldn't you? however it could be the lights. maybe that's the problem. not our inability to wire them. considering we have wired an entire bass sytem in his truck, my wife's car, and in my car. but that's just my opinion
