Sorry for the extremely late bump, but I would pull on the left side first. I did the right side and when I came to remove the left side, I got a little frustrated and tugged on the left side, breaking 2 of the clips. If I would of started on the left it wouldn't of been a problem cause the right side popped out with ease

Glove box plastic hinges will break

In the descriptive writeup towards the end before removal of the cabin air filter cover is the text "Once it drops down a little as the clips are free, disconnect the white plug(in pic below) and then you can let the whole assembly hang." The assembly hangs on a hinge on each side on my 2004 TL. I have to unscrew them. Reattaching them can be a bear but with practice i have been able to do it quickly. However, the the thin plastic arm that goes over metal rod of the hinge has broken, and the glove box does not "align" properly when it is closed. Buying the whole box from salvage is not economical or available. Anyone have this problem and know how to fix it?

Replaced mine today. Pretty sure it has been 3 years or so since the last change. Easy since I cut the cover out, however I noticed lots of small pieces of foam in the filter. Assuming some of the foam gaskets inside the air box must be coming apart.

New on top. Old on bottom. Last one replaced about 1 years ago. This is what happens when you don't have a garage and park under trees.
