what to do what to do. I need some advice from the wise ones.
So my current job offered me a promo... (knew I went on a interview, so they called me this morning and offered me the promo) the people there like me, but I feel the Department might be going towards the shits soon.
I take the bus to work currently $45 a month for bus passes and it's about an hour 15 min commute.. it takes 20 minutes to get to work, but I'm including the wait time for the bus to come. Driving to work would be stupid because parking is 100+ a month because it's downtown and we have the stupid new arena...
Now the interview I had last week, same duties I'm doing now, different Department. This department is located in my city. 8-9 minute commute by car, free parking... more options to promote possibly (again would have to wait a year to promote to manager)
Now do I stick it out a year at my current place and then apply for the next level next year in June and pass up the opportunity to work where I live. Or do I take the job where I live, stay there for a while and say screw being a manager for at least a year and a half? ( I mean I could always apply for manager wherever I'm at in a year, but it would be kind fucked up if I did it to the new department.

My very first grownup job did that.
At performance review and I asked what I needed to do to get my next level promotion, since I'd been doing quite a bit already. Answer: Take on more responsibility, or you need to leave for a while and hire back lol.
So I was like, cool, Imma go work for this other company now.
And they came back with, oh shit, here's that promotion and some more money.
So I was like: wow, thanks that's awesome! Hey, new company, Imma let you finish with the offer, but I just got a promotion so lets go ahead and give me more money, okay?
And they were pretty cool about it. So that's how I got my second grownup job.
And later that's, while crapping out a double-double animal style with chocolate shake on the floor of a truckstop shower, how I met your mother.

Keep a bottle of brown in the desk drawer. I'm convinced that's the cure-all for everything.
Apply directly to the forehead for a headache, drink to settle the stomach, snort a little dabble to clear the sinuses. Wonder-tonic.
