Man, back in November, driving over the Raton pass into Colorado and it was amazing how much Trinidad has changed. I counted three Green Med shoppes right off the highway. And Trinidad only has a population of 9000.

The place looked like it had an influx of cash from somewhere.

We weren't cut checks but we do all benefit from the tax revenue. I live in Colorado Springs, conservative city and the city gov opted to not approve rec sales. However we still benefit from the state tax.

thats good but kind of weak that the city didnt approve sales..

Is it a rich area with a lot of older ppl??

The little towns have changed and benefited definitely. More cash but most of those little towns are notwhere I'd want to live.

I wouldn't say rich and old but many many military retirees, 5 military base in El Paso county, and a large religous community. Most conservative city in Colorado.

Word. I got in an accident coming home for Thanksgiving one year and was stuck in Trinidad for like 6 hours. That was the longest 6 hours of my life.

I know people that are from there. Operative word being "from" there. Not "are" there.

I heard it was the sex change capital of the country though...

That's the rumor. Some investors built a large gold resort in Trinidad back about ten years ago, grand plan of a destination resort. Jack Nicklaus design, lasted about 5 years.

Can't get US Citizenship and me a citizen of another country. Anyone applying here has to renounce their other citizenship. A US citizen can go to other countries and become a dual citizen but not the reverse.
