Nope. I'll be keeping an eye on the sky this weekend, trying to get out to the local pool a few more times before it closes on Labor day. But it's looking like another grey weekend of skywater.
I'm going to be doing some heavy meditating, or medicating, to prepare for another week of getting beat like a borrowed mule next week.

So I finally fit those 37" mudders to the CU2SUV and now there is rubbing, but only when the wheels are moving. Is that a problem? And if so, why are you so negative?

Thoiboi, remember how Yumcha and I were telling you to hit up Banff and Jasper, here in Alberduh?
Scrap that plan.
Fly in to Calgary. Rent a car. Drive 2.5 hours south to Waterton. It's quite literally on the border between Alberduh and Montana. It's fucking epically beautiful here. The drive from Calgary is nothing but plains until you get 15 minutes outside of Waterton. And then BAM. Mountains all around you. There's no foothills here, leading up to mountains. It's weird.
I'd say Waterton is in between Banff and Jasper, in terms of shit to do. Banff is literally a gong show these days with many Canadians not travelling due to the exchange rate, and shit tons of tourists coming in because of the same. Everything is crowded beyond belief. Jasper is the same, it seems. Waterton is like a hidden gem. We've been here for 3 days now and only today is pretty busy- makes sense since it's a Saturday.
The hiking here is to die for. The views are fucking amazing. So many trails. The lake is massive (but pretty damn cold, as it gets deep as fuck within 20 feet of the shore.) It just drops. It's all glacier water, so it's super clear. Lots of wildlife- came across a mama bear and her cub when we were driving. Came across at least a dozen deer. Some outside our hotel room. There's bison. Squirrels. Chipmunks. Bald eagles.
I also can't believe how many Americans are here. I've seen license plates from Missouri, South Dakota, New York, Michigan, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana (obviously), New Jersey, California, etc.
Ill post pics when I'm back home. I'm not sure why I haven't come here more. We are gonna start hitting this place more often.
Did i mention the incredible hiking? Fuck man...

Ugh. Beach day yesterday, so de-sand-ifying the truck day today.
And I feel like I rolled down a flight of stairs from fighting the waves. Old sucks.

Yep. OEM all weather mats in the truck but I'm dangerously close to ordering some weathertechs with how well they work in the wagon.
Of course, sand gets everywhere, even with the mats. Mostly in the cargo area, and we had a bit of a "disorderly exit" from the beach when a storm started moving in so I took the "fuck-it and chuck-it" approach to packing.

Well, after 4 days in Waterton, I came to notice that no one was driving new/newer Acuras. Like, no one.
I was specifically looking out for them, and this is what I saw:
ILX: 0
TLX: 2
RLX: 0
RDX: 0
MDX: 0
there was three 1G MDXs and two 2G MDXs, but nothing newer. I was floored. I mean, I know people are buying new Acuras, but where the hell were they? There was plenty of everything else there. Also of note- lots of subarus around there. Not surprising, as they seem to be held in high regard by the outdoorsy folk.
Also, I ended up seeing 25 different US state licence plates in town. The furthest was from florida! Must've been one hell of a long drive.

Had a 2000 Tacoma (Xtra cab 4x4 SR5, if you care about the details). Replaced it with a 2012 4Runner (KDSS Trail, again with the specifics) when The Spawn® was born.
It's momma's daily driver so I haven't done too much to it: sliders, a roof rack, and a light bar (to go on). Tires soon and maybe a small lift in a year or two. Santa will be bringing a ladder to get up on to the rack from the back this year. And I'm not 100% on getting new front and rear bumpers. Momma says she needs them to smash into stuff so I'm a bit, um, hesitant???
