Been quite busy at work and then trying to deal with Nissan - so the story is i scraped my wifes wheels against the curb on a tight street which caused the air bag sensor to deploy the passenger side. been fighting with them that it was an over aggressive deployment and they said it well may be but they find no fault. They had same issue with Nissan Leaf deployment when doors got slammed too hard. im like all i have is a bit of curb rash on a tire and now the car is a POS and worth jack shit in a trade. Insurance fixed the airbag and seat and replaced the rim but still wifey wont drive it cuz she doesnt want it to go off again while she is driving. so im now working to see what to do about it. PITA!

Work is busy and Agnes is still doing good. Rolled her around the domain this weekend for date night.

Its been Infuriating, and unfortunately the family WAS in the car at the time and ended up in hospital as a result. i hate nissan and their consumer affairs division. and then the Nissan Dealer who did repairs said they would work on the trade if i wanted to trade as they knew it was not a legitimate deployment and then the dealer appraiser suggests 11k under KBB/NADA/Black Book

 

Shit. I'd be livid Ulster. They would be doing something.

 

Start by writing something eloquently and start posting it on their twitter feed...Nissan of NA will respond and have a rep get in touch and they will make things right.
Especially if there was injury.

i talked to lawyers etc but they said they wont take the case unless there was grevious bodily harm, metal shrapnel from the bag, or death. Im like no, just concussion and soft tissue damage and they are like well its not worth our time...

So thats why went to Nissan Consumer Affairs but of course they arent taking responsibility and said in their engineers mind the airbag acted as it anticipated a side impact to the vehicle but i said all i got was a scratched rim, and they said BUT YOU COULD HAVE HAD A SIDE COLLISION....am like HOW exactly? They say case closed, insurance just wanted to fix it and get me out of rental and be done with it. Like i said its an all round shitty situation with not clear solution on the horizon. When i fought the appraiser from nissan they said well take it to carmax and see what they say and we will match it. And we all know CarMax....

I've heard that Carmax is hit or miss...they sometimes DO appraise a few K more than dealer.

My Honda dealer offered me 13.5k
Ford offered me 16k
CarMax offered me 15.9

So CarMax isn't always bad.

 

I still laugh at Ford. I owned the car for 2.5 years paid 18k for it only owed 13k and they gave me 16...
