I got some mediocre sushi on Friday night, some real poor people shit, not that 10%er kind that Yummy and that other guy get.

Decided to try something new. Some real Cracker shit, called a Fufu roll. Totally different than a fifi roll, btw. It was like a bunch of different ground up fishes dolloped on top of a fried clam inside soybean wrap.

Fuckin', that'll teach me not to actually read what the thing is first. I just thought it came with a handy under the table. Nope.

Well, hopefully I get a 5 foot long tapeworm.

WagonJr got a free desert because we told those suckers it was his birthday (it wasn't). He picked the tempura fried ice cream. It was supposed to be ice cream coated in cake and fried, but I think it was just regular tempura.

Lemme tell you, that desert is best served right out of the frier and into the trashcan. Disgusting

Rolls should be simple, sir...I truly recommend the ones that have just 1-2 fish elements (the uramaki). If we are talking about a "complex" roll (i.e. "norimaki"), the one to get is the futomaki. Look up the ingredients...it's tasty, fresh, and filling. An experienced sushi chef may tweak it but this is a tried-and-true roll.

Otherwise, when it comes to sushi, per my first statement, stick to nigiri sushi or oshizushi...both are...divine with the right fresh fish.

The nigiri I had recently and a "variant" futomaki in the background as "filler"...good stuff.

As you'll see, nothing fancy...very "basic" stuff...but, that's what it's all about for sushi: the simplicity is beautiful and delicious. Zen.

Of note, I LOVE shima aji and aji. Both are probably my favorite types of fish for sushi/sashimi. The saba and tamago would be very worthy to try just to see how the chef marinates the former and of course, how sweet and fluffy he makes the latter.
