My last gf ended up cheating on me with her ex. She didn't even have the nerve to tell me, I found out by going through her voicemails one day while I was hanging out with her.

Fast forward a few years and same guy ends up cheating on her with another girl. I'm happily dating my current GF of 8 years, he's doing great with the new girl, and my ex is doing who knows what.

I had a similar thing happen to me on a much much smaller scale, so I got a little taste of it myself. At this point I still regard my ex friend as a dick, but I just don't give enough of a shit to even think about kicking his ass.

I completely agree. So, it's a blessing...That being said, it does not take away from the fact that the guy betrayed me like that esp. with all my years of looking at him like a brother and trusting him. I cannot forgive that part. I do not go around daily thinking how mad/bitter I am...heck no. That's no way to live...but, when occasionally something reminds me of that sordid event, it does bring a scowl to my face. And as I said above, I do use him as a weird way to motivate myself.

Dunno if that makes sense or is the ramblings of a nutbar.
