Nice! I think I have a buyer for mine too. Went to my home town for Mother's Day and met up with some old friends. One of them is looking at new Accord Sports but would buy my TL...

Texted him the maintenance done and mod list yesterday. Good lord...I've done a lot to this piece over the years.

Really? You must have less miles. I put "good"...and it spit out 6K private party...factored in the csl spoiler, new tires, all the maintenance, sound system and aspec wheels and felt like 8K was a fair number.

I feel like when you mentioned it earlier, you thought you'd get peanuts for the car. 8K is fair, IMO.

That's peanuts to me. Drop X amount for something, baby it, upgrade it, and it's down to that is just depressing. Lol

Really though the car ended up costly me like $125/month while I owned it. Not bad...

Yeah...I feel you there...I had a spreadsheet for how much I put into that car...scary.
I thought 8K was fair, for both him and I.

I just saw how crazy the pricing has started going on a clean fox body, doubt that'll end up happening because the guy is smart and will probably research what a good price is for it. It's not the most gorgeous car ever, that's for sure...just love that sound and power.

My FL Acura tech buddy was up this weekend. Hung out all day yesterday. He's here to ride and drive the new NSX at Marysville today. Lucky fucker.

He had to leave his phone at the hotel that's how secretive they are being about it.

Are you factoring in money into it, minus 8K, divided by time owned?

His entire hotel was loaded up with Acura signs and people. Apparently they hand pick techs from all over and fly them in to do this.

No that's not factoring in mods and maintenance. That's pure cost / time owned.

I don't even want to add up mods but I'd still consider myself on the lower end of that.

$200 exhaust
$450 jpipe
$300 HFPC
$600 brakes
$200 drivetrain
$2000 aspecs and tires?
$800 aspec kit
$3-400 tint?
$300 misc mods

Probably about $6000 in mods and maintenance?

Shit I forget the lights, the accords, suspension, HIC, lol.

I'd say all of that warrants a price increase of 1k.

biggest factor IMO is the NON rarity of this car...you almost HAVE to list all those things t be noticeable in the sea of NBP Tl's for sale out there. and we'd need a specific buyer!

Exactly. Hence why the return on those mods is next to nothing.

My main thought was to leave on all the mods that would make the car more visually unique over all the others being sold.

Had I known who was buying my car, I would have left on the short shifter and rear sway bar...he's an enthusiast and awesome. I think he'll end up reinstalling that stuff.

I don't plan on removing anything. That's why I'd like to jump on the friend buying it train.

I'd gonna have to go up a bit in price to get what I want in a S5 quick though.

meaning not waiting until the S5 model you like is cheaper in a year or 2?
I wouldn't wait, Chad...
I had that sure thing deal to sell the TL to a friend, and that friend flaked on me and I honestly feel like I missed the hot iron strike because I told so many people it was already sold to someone...

I dragged my feet though, I kinda didn't want it to sell for a while...nawmean? Once I got serious about pictures and posting and pricing, it sold. If you can avoid all the dumb moron low ballers, and it can go to a good home...I'd do it.

Nah the 2013 models with the supercharged v6 coupes are hitting the market now. But when you are trying to find a manual (not common), a good color scheme, and the right trim level / options there aren't many. Like a dozen nationwide. The one I want the most...Seattle. Lol

That silver one from Ohio actually IS not a bad deal. I actually don't dislike the silver and I like the interior. It's not a Prestige but it's optioned up.

The 7 speed DSG was actually like a $1800 option... If I did that I'd have four times the cars to choose from and probably pay $3k less on average. It's tempting.

But fuck I don't want to buy MY CAR! THE CAR! with all that potential power and not be a stick.

Page 15. I showed my mom all the trims / options and she noticed the options add up to more than she just got her Civic for. Lol

The manuals / drivetrain used in those cars are near perfect.

Neither trans option has any known issues. The DSG is technically faster and can hold more power.

It's funny the manual is cheaper from the factory but those cars hold their value better because they are so much rarer... Lol

same deal with the 3G...
most people want auto, but the ones that want manual are okay paying a premium for it.

Was the auto more new than the manual? I always thought the manual was more because suspension/brakes/tires...

its crazy to put the numbers down on paper....id lose so much money if I were to sell my TL. paint job, exhaust, wheels, coils, etc, etc, etc.

I came to grips with the fact long time ago that its worth way more to me then someone else or what the market dictates so ill just keep the damn thing forever. lol

Yea but ultimately, usually, you can say that about MOST cars once you've had them for a while. At least the cars us type of guys look at owning.

when i bought the TL, my close friends told me I was crazy for planning to keep the TL for 10 years.
they said "oh you'll be in a newer or more powerful car sooner than later"

only four more short years till I reach 10 years!

Eight years for me... That's pretty good really. I'm 32 and I've only ever owned two vehicles. Well three but the wife's Civic doesn't count.

Yeah, only one thing you want exploding on that kind of airbags... and it's not the airbags themselves.
