Jeremy, we good?
To me, it doesn't make sense to loot in that situation, Fort McMurray is going to burn to the ground, Armed Forces on site or not.......it's unfortunate, but, the last similar event cost $1B in damages, this time around, the fire is worse, in a larger community.
I'm super mad.
I hated looting, until I listened to Sublime. Then I was like, MAN...if I loot, one day I can write a bad ass song!
Of course we're good...
I'm just saying...Adam's heart was bleeding for the business owners instead of for the crooked asshole insurance companies that are only that way because of insurance **cough, purple, cough*** scams who are gonna be the ones to feel the burn. .
Yeah...let's not even get started on the insurance corporations that will use any and every loophole to get out of people honest people money they actually deserve for their losses.........
Still not sure why insurance corporations can feel good about posting quarterly profits, mainly made by NOT paying out as much as they could/should have for legit claims......
So just heard that a minimum of 1600 buildings have been torched to the ground, and counting. Insurance companies will be fighting tooth and nail to pay as little as possible. Regardless, you're right, I assume MOST people are insured and will be covered, but I just can't believe the slimey bottom feeders who see this as an opportunity.
It's not even the business owners I feel for. It's more for home owners who abandoned their place, and now some scumbag is coming in and ripping their TV off the wall, to sell at the pawn shop for $50, to buy some more crack
The insurance companies have been, since day 1 of this blaze, checking all policies in the area, and compiling a list of who will not be getting paid one red cent because of the various loopholes in their policies.......guaranteed.
yup. you're right. and it's ridiculous because like you said, they post crazy profit numbers every quarter, but to keep the shareholders happy, they do anything possible to not pay a single penny.
The unfortunate thing about publicly traded companies is that such a company essentially becomes a slave to the shareholders. Losing money is not an option. Being as greasy as possible to be able to post another billion dollar profit is.
I also find it funny that you pay X dollars every year for car insurance, but once you have an accident (or sometimes a second accident), your premiums shoot to the sky. What's the point of having insurance then? I had one "official" accident when I wrote my AV6 coupe off back in 2010. Prior to that, I had a clean driver's record for 7 years, yet the day I get in a wreck, my premiums go way up. What's worse is the accident was out of my hands- I blacked out behind the wheel- but as far as the insurance company was concerned, it was all my fault
It is a scam.....put together by a group of wealthy investors to figure out a way to make money off of people and not have to pay much back, as often as possible.
IMO, insurance is a huge scam.....and they make a killing........quite a scheme, if you ask me.
wait- I noticed before that Derek has been around for many years, but just noticed now his post count is 230 I'm surprised you're posting as much as you are this last week or so. Must've increased you post count by 500% in the last week, compared to the last 10 years

Unfortunately, like in gambling with how the house always wins...insurance is the same. The insurers ALWAYS win.

It's almost biblical Gents, "Train up a child in the way they should go, and when they grow old, they will not depart from it......"
Guess it was only a matter of time before I came home....
chad is just jealous that I surpassed his post count
Oh, I forgot. Post count means absolutely nothing. Unless you're MonkeyTrucker- than you think contributing members are the only ones that can have high post counts
