Austin, you SURE you want to do them yourself? I mean, I'm just showing you where to cut, right? I could do that with pictures if you wanted to get started tonight but regardless, if you crack them, you'll wish you had had Erin do them.

Seriously though, get your Dad's dremel, I'll text you detailed pictures where to cut if you like. I know you're having a hard time waiting till I have time to meet up.

That pic reminds me that we have a stray cat that lives under our storage building. One day I noticed something out the window and looked and that cat caught a squirrel that was in our front yard.


...now if I can get it to catch/kill any snakes that may come into the yard. I have woods on each side of my house and there are plenty of fields around our house too (insects = mice, mice = snakes, and snakes = me paranoid when my 4 year old is playing at the woodline.)

I don't see this ending well, and it's not because I don't have faith in the boy, it's bc there is a definite learning curve with this and it takes time and practice to get it all down properly.

Hang out or not, Austin, I told you and you even said it, you're cutting yourself and I will not be stepping in this time. So if you crack em, you're up the creek. AND, I know you're itching to get it done, so what's stopping you from doing it tonight. Like I said, I don't know when I'll have time to dedicate to it.

The Depo's are a lot less forgiving with the cut and require extra cutting to free the bezel afterward. It's not impossible, but since you're doing it yourself anyway, why don't you just do it TODAY!!??!

Austin, don't be butthurt, but unless it's because you figured I'd just take over and make the cuts for you...then I can likely guide you with pictures just the same. I don't mind giving you a hand, but you'll need to be patient for a day to come by and do it.

I won't make the cuts for you because I don't want to be the dumbazz that's just giving you a hand and cracks them myself.

Justin, I toggle between the two. I dig both looks...something cool about the reds on black but not totally stock looking.

Yes, there are write ups...
BUT, I will tell you guys this, I am a decently seasoned modder and this mod was bigger than me for a long time. I actually had to sacrifice my first set of lights to learn how/where to cut (first set was cracked anyway) and even then, I decided I wasn't going to mod tails. I put it to bed for a year before giving it another go. It can be explained and pictures taken, but really, until you give it a go, you really won't know what is being explained.

That said, I'm sure plenty o people are better modders than I am and will nail it on their first attempt. Ahem, Aaron, for instance.

Austin is somewhere furiously trying to figure out how to get those smoked off to sell to Zach TODAY!

I actually was going to try out this "terminator 2" look...basically, just frosted lens on the leds (or not) and that's it, no bezel or lenses. Might have looked kinda cool...
