My buddy put new mufflers/tips on his charger yesterday. He went with 4.5" tips, they are HUGE. They look bad ass on that car tho.

Not his car, but they are the same tips.

If I have to do work like change exhaust or something that requires crawling under the car I jack that baby up as high as I can get it and put jack stands at all 4 corners.

That way I can roll around from back to stomach and army crawl from under that bish. Just get a jack that will go 18.5" or higher or use a 2x4 or 2x6 to get that extra 2" and smooth sailing.

Either way I won't even stick my head in a wheel well with just a jack. I ALWAYS use a jack stand - minus if just taking a rim off and putting one right back on.

I have seen a jack give out under load. It took about 0.4 seconds to completely drop. Luckily there was nothing under car and wheel was not removed.
As soon as the jack got up to about 85% max height, it just dropped. Cylinder gave out.

Pretty scary shit.

Here are a couple pics of the damage my neighbor caused after backing into my car in the driveway. Body shop estimate is a little under $1,700

look at the 2nd picture...it's not. They'll have to bodywork the door then blend it to rear door and fender and replace the mirror.

now, if this were south florida...they'd say it wasn't even hit!

I'll try to upload a better picture but the door is scuffed from the front fender all the way to under the door handle. J is right - they'll need to blend the front fender and rear door in order to make it look decent again.

Glenn, now your KBP is finally better looking than mine

They will buff the scuff out, put a mirror on it and laugh all the way to the bank.

Lol I still have it too. I gotta make sure to take it out of the car before I drop it off to get fixed

I'll try and get a SH-AWD 6MT for a loaner. I've always wanted to drive one of those.

Finally got the pre-cats on & love 'em. Sound is so much more aggressive & it pulls noticeably more up top from a quick drive.

The smell isn't that bad, & the rasp actually sort of offsets the drone the exhaust was giving before hand, so I'm extremely happy with it.

The real con is now I need to keep the mod bug from biting, since this cost me a bit more money than I thought originally. But, back in love with the car, so my goal is accomplished.

Anyone tell me what they thing that when I am slowing down below 45-35 when it shifts its a noticeable, sometimes hard downshift. Does this about half the time and only at those speeds (4th-3rd?) Pressure switches changed and 3x3 done.

How about while shifting 2nd to 3rd when there is not enough RPM (very low)
while driving a little up-hill at least...not down-hill

??
Does it hit?

The ECU does those aggressive downshifts...its normal....

When in D I noticed this...if i slam the brakes, the ECU will aggressively downshift gears....the gear shifting is more aggressive than if you are in M and downshifting yourself....

It's called grade logic. The car is supposed to be able to sense when you are coasting down hill and it downshifts to help maintain a steady speed so you don't have to use the brakes.

it happens on any sort of grade so i dont think it is that and only in the downshift at mostly 40mph, you feel it everytime you come to a slow but sometimes it feels as though i stomped the breaks which is why I would ask (as no need for a thread as I looked at them all and read about the way the car does it). It does it very hard when coming to a quicker stop such as stop lights going yellow on you. Never really happened before I did my pressure switches besides the downhill downshifts (rarely)

Everything shifts fine except that point and is very smooth on the other ones.

edit: btw thanks for all the answers.

Mine does the downshift thing too. Either if I'm coasting or lightly touching the brakes coming to a stop. 4th to 3rd sounds about right.

Also, at lower speeds my exhaust makes a loud and very deep droning noise (coasting but slowing down), and once it downshifts again it goes away. I never noticed it with stock exhaust but doing Stage 3 made it very noticeable.
