Black and white with 3 channels used to hurt my eyes too Austin.

Especially having to get up off the floor (parents sat in the chair) to change the channel.

Don't feel bad.

So... my tighten gas cap light came on driving home today. Tightened it, took it off, tightened it again, took it off, tightened it again with no luck. Is this under warranty to get fixed? Does it fix itself?

EDIT: and I'm currently reading through threads related to this, just looking for a quick response in the ramblings

There is an $80 part next to the throttle body that you have to replace. Then reset codes in your nav. If you have nav.

Edit:

Part # 002

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

Then do this:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/anyway-clear-error-codes-stored-nav-822769/

I think you're talking about that other set. Started off at $550, then he made another ad for $450. The set I grabbed had "please contact" for the price. That guy wanted $500, but settled for $450

Lol yeah man, $80 to get rid of a stupid error message is annoying. But I'm completely fine with spending $450 on a winter set of wheels.

Spend 80 for maintenance to fix your car and get rid of an annoying message and

Spend 450 on rims that you only use for 4 months and

Glad you have your priorities in check.

And yes I am fucking with you!!

It will come back, and most likely you have a code stored in your car.

Either way, you know how to fix it. There was a service bulletin about it. If you have the code but no check engine light then that part I linked will fix your problem.

If you get a CEL then you have to start at beginning for diagnosing problem.

Well the last time it went off was a couple days after I got the car. So if it only comes on once every 11 months, and disappears within a couple hours, I can live with that.

But I do appreciate the info you provided, so thank you sauceja

Finally got acura to approve for the recall to be done at a honda dealership. They said it just covers the hose and nothing else, which I guess i got to get the fluid changed since I dont think it ever has in the last 40k miles.

I went through this process as well only to have the Honda dealership tell me mine didn't need it because they have never had to do this recall on a 6mt.

I asked them, well have you ever seen a 6mt TL come here?
They said no.
I asked then why are they basing their decision on that considering they have never even seen one.

I decided to not bother and found an Acura dealer to do it. The closest Acura dealer to me is 4+ hours away. The nearest Honda dealer to me is now 2+ hours away.

Oh well, power steering recall is done now. And they have to change fluid because as soon as they disconnect the hose your reservoir is going to drain. So they will at least have to top it off for you.
