instead of replacing the bathroom exhaust fans, just cleaned up the motors. works sooooo much better now
this thang was so gross.
Good job! Keep in mind, eventually the motor will give up. If you don't want to replace the entire unit, you could try to source another motor. I've installed new motors in ceiling fans that are impossible to remove the entire assembly due to the design of the ceiling and the exhaust duct.
one of the reasons I don’t put an expected return date. It kind of forces them to goto whoever else is covering for you while you’re out.
and when I used to put a date, people would be like “let’s just wait 2 weeks for him to come back” and then I find out it’s something that could’ve easily handled by someone else
and then you have those morons that are like “why aren’t you responding to my email, what’s the status of the request” “I tried calling you but it went straight to voicemail”

After an extended absence, I'll just delete everything. Figure if it's important enough, they'll ask again.
Even say that in my out of office response, "if it's important and needs my attention, please resend on <day after I get back>"
In 15-ish years, guess how many times someone has followed through with it.
Spoiler
If you guessed anything but "zero" you fucking lose.
Here's another protip: Call your desk phone from your cell phone, let it go to voicemail, and max out the recording. Fill up the mailbox without deleting any until it gives you the message that "this user's mailbox is full and can't record any new messages".
Now phone messages aren't a concern for you anymore.
I've doubled down too. They changed the VM system and now require some ridiculous PIN and it needs to be changed regularly.
The threat was that if we didn't comply by xxx day, then you mailbox would be locked out and you need to go through some flaying gauntlet to reactivate access.
I was like, fuck that noise. Keep the damn thing.
So now I have a full box and can't access it even if I wanted to.

Technically, yes. But I haven't seen it in 6 months. I think they call it a "soft phone" or some shit, but I've got a client on my computer that works as long as I'm on the VPN. So it's like using the phone-phone, but isn't.
Which in and of itself is like a third layer of security, since I'm nearly always on a Teams meeting, I can't actually answer phone calls.
So, 1) Can't answer phone calls
2) Caller can't leave message
3) I can't access message anyway.
Set Teams status to "In a Meeting - Do Not Disturb", put out of office response on email... day drink in the parking lot of the liquor store.
Picked up my old headliner from the shop. I didn't realize it was sagging in as many spots. Video shoot is on for Sunday. I'll spend Saturday cleaning it up and figure out how to fix the seat back covers since the mold that holds the clips broke.
Peel that shit off and get some weed leaf pattern fabric glued up on there. Gangsta.
I was thinking about replacing the fabric myself. Going with black instead of the gray and then selling it for $400. What's crazy is the amount of DM's I've received on my headliner IG story. Many of them asking me where I got the new headliner (because they need one also) and the price. They weren't too thrilled about the price, but can you blame them?
If you're upfront about what you did recovering it yourself, etc. Man, if someone want's to buy it... Sell that bitch!
400 is a nice chunk to offset the cost of the new one.
If you think about it, most upholstery shops charge about that if not more. Most of it being labor intensive and not so much with material. A lot of these owners have sagging headliners so to have a mint one for the price isn't terrible. A lot of these guys do the "starlight" headliner mod, so i'll see if it sells without doing anything to it. I'll have a better chance if the fabric is redone.

oh yeah, if the motor goes....then i'll just buy the whisper quiet unit and let people hear my sharts
When I was in college, I had an old boombox that I put in the shared bathroom. Mostly to blast Faith No More when taking a shower, but it also helped to mask the sounds of shitting.
I miss having bathroom radio now. But care 100% less about people hearing my shit-coustics.
I think cockstar introduced me to bluetooth connected showerheads.
while researching bathroom exhaust fans, there is even a bluetooth connected exhaust fan to blast music from above while emptying your bowels.

I saw that. I was like I can play some don’t stop believing when my shit don’t want to come out?
