3000K HID's for Fogs
As people in Florida may know, the fog can be pretty bad at 3 or 4 in the morning. I leave for work at around that time and it's pretty bad to see, and I have already had a few close calls, lately with a ladder in the middle of the road.
Moving on, I've been looking at some 3000K (golden Yellow) HID's for the fogs so I can see better in these bad conditions. I found someone recommended this website for the kits:
http://www.ddmtuning.com/hidkihidbuhi.html
They have 35watt and 55 watt HIDs, digital and analog, etc. I'm a noob when it comes to this stuff and yes, I have searched the threads and there has been very little mention of what's good and whats not. Which should I get?

I am wondering this too because I know there is a difference. Just like 1fsthatch said some HIDs throw off a yellowish light but look whitish if you look at them head on. That's not the kind I am looking for, I want a DEEP yellow HID kit. (At least as yellow as a yellow Nokya Halogen bulb.) Almost all of them out there are labelled 3000K and they all seem the same but what do they look like lit?
You know that yellow you see on european rally or racing cars. I am pretty sure they are using HIDs on those, I wonder if that is that color because of the bulb or a yellow filter on the lens. I know some people have used fog-light protectors like rockblockers and Lamin-X in a transparent yellow. Would that throw off a nice 2500K yellow if it had 6000K HIDs behind it? Hmmm........somebody had to have tried this!
I feel like buying some yellow protectors to experiment but I have 8000K fogs....yellow plus blue might look weird? Anyone know where to get them for the Accord Fogs? Or do I have to custom cut them...

technically yes, a yellow halogen will due but won't be as bright as the hid. I'm running stock headlights with the 35w 3k (white head on/yellow on ground).I also have the "pure" yellow which also look good but aren't as bright.(still pretty bright though) Function wise I like the white/yellow,but mine also emit a slight purple that kinda irk's me. I just ran an 8k set-up and the light from my new set-up is a night and day diff.............

I see the kind of fogs I'm talking about once in awhile on the street in NYC on an oncoming car. They get me staring, I'm like "oooh!". I feel like pulling a U-turn and chasing them down to see what they have in those lights but someone would probably freak thinking I'm a psycopath and then I'd probably get a gun pulled on me, lol.

maybe some bulb condoms like the 1st Gen TL would work? So general consensus is 35 watt digital, right?

Dont mean to hijack your thread meance, but in reference to the fog light kit above, how is it so cheap? Many of the kits out there are a couple hundred dollars. Am I missing something here? haha!

My Car, 3000K Hids $70.00 pair from Ebay. One ballast went bad after 8 months, bought another kit, no issues, same bulbs for about 1.5 years.

I have never heard of a bulb condom for HIDs. It used to be a short-lived idea for halogen bulbs. The problem with bulb condoms is mainly heat. It traps the radiant heat and kills the bulb. The bulb has to run hotter, darker colors absorb visible light. It can also discolor. Plastic ones melt and glass ones shatter from the heat of the bulb.
There was a forum thread on another site somewhere long ago talking about those "bulb condoms" you can get from Lexus. Those are considered the BEST and they are pricey if you wanted them by themselves, some dude on Ebay used to sell them and they weren't cheap. They give off that awesome yellow I was talking about. I didn't buy them because Nokya yellows were SO much cheaper.
I still think there are yellow HIDs somewhere out there that will kill everything. I've seen them. Any ideas?

I have 3000K 35 watt HID kits from AACstyle dot com. they sell them 279 a set, I am sure they would be interested in being vendors too ![2 Cents](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/2cents.gif)
Havent had any issues with them, its a direct plug and play (meaning no need to run a hard line to the battery), using digital ballast, lifetime warranty.

Any one have pics with the 3500 installed for fogs? I have a 2007 TL pearl white and curious as to how it would look on my car.
I installed new bulbs for my day light running.
Boy was it a bitch to install them. (NON HID)

i purchased my kits from ddm and they are working very well. i purchased 5k 35watt for my fogs and my reverse lights. they are cheap and thats exactly what i said but they do come with a lifetime warranty so you dont have to worry. ive had these in my car for at least 3 months now.
only problem with ddm sometimes, at least for me and a few people from AZ was that it would take forever to get to your house. even if you payed extra for speedy delivery, there would be no point because it would take about 5 days + to process the order then shipped out to be delivered between 5-7 days. i got 1 of my kits in about 2 and a half weeks then 1 of my other kits because of backorder in 3 weeks.
they may have improved? maybe somebody who ordered recently could.

A friend of mines bought the same fogs. 55w 3000K with yellow overlays. No problems yet and it looks really bright and nice. Im also running ddmtuning 5k fogs for my car too and no problems. I suggest you get the regular ballast over the slim ballast. the slim ballast quality isnt as good and the size different isnt that big and digital or analog, i think its all the same.
