3000K HID Headlights and fogs

I've been swirling this idea around in my head for the past month about doing 3000K (Yellow) Bulbs for my head lights and for my fogs. So far i've only seen pictures of just the fog lights...Does anyone have a picture or have seen this type of look?

i think you should just stick to 3k for fogs...it might be kinda hard to see at night

If anything it will be illegal which here in Tally the cops have better things to do...I think it would be kinda hot to have the black car with yellow lights...

IMO, don't do 3000k headlights...terrible lumen output. Why do that to some of the best OEM projectors made?!?!

3000K Headlights wouldn't work to well at night. They are great because they can cut though heavy fog and rain with ease, however on a clear night it won't work out so well. The current 4300K lights help to see better than the 3000K because they are white and bright. The 3000K's yellow color will more than likely fatigue your eyes if used has main bulbs.

Also add in the fact that any cop would pull you over since HID's are whiteish blue rather than a bright yellow.

Yeah it was just a brain storm. I think the trouble of having to swap the bulbs out just to "see" is enough to hinder me from actually doing it. I've just never seen it done on our cars before.

Do it and see how you like it.. what color is your car? I ran 3000k headlights in my truck for a long time before switching to 6000k. And I liked it, if I had a WDP, I'd definitely run 3000k lol Do you already have the 3000k D2S bulbs?

Mine is Nighthawk Black. I had them in my truck before i sold it too, but they were fog lights. They were bright enough to use as regular lights so i did that from time to time but on the back roads. I don't have them in D2S, but I wouldn't have an issue getting them. It's just that our cars are not the easiest to swap just to experiment. My truck it only took 10 mins and I was done.

ill try to snap couple pics tonight for ya.
i have 4300k low beams and 3000k for foglights..

if i could change things, I would definately not go with 3000k.. it overpowers the lowbeams and just makes everything a mess.

Please don't be a jerk and do 3k headlights or anything above 6k. I ABSOLUTELY hate it when I drive and see people use 10k/12k headlights that BLIND me. I get really angry. Not only does it decrease output, it blinds/annoys other people so cops, SHOULD pull them over. 4300-6000 is the perfect tint color/output level. I would see someone using 3k though if they live in areas that fog a lot.

I am not the one to talk about cops doing/not doing there jobs but if it affects me, I don't feel bad if they do get pulled over.

I think i'm going to leave my car like it is. I may put in some Nokya yellow bulbs for foglights and call it a day. I still have my kit but the fit is for 9006 not H8...I don't want to buy another kit and mess something up. I've learned this car is very sensitive to change

I had both 8000K and 12000K for my truck that i switched out whenever I wanted a change. It only took 10 mins to switch. I had to lower my lights because they were shining too high. I had Ford do that the next day after i put them in. The funny thing about my 8000K lights is that they lit the signs and roads up better than the 4300K I now have in my car. The 12000K was purely for show nothing special but a purple beam. The 3000K was my fog lights and I used them all the time; sometimes for driving lights if I was on backroads because they were brighter than what i had. I never got flashed at all for my lights until I put the normal bulbs back in my truck that were Silverstars. That's when people started flashing me and I flashed them back because I know my beams are lower then Ford specs...So maybe your gripe is with people that have aftermarket HID kits that have failed to lower their beams to account for people coming by. The one group of people I felt no remorse for are those that lowered their cars and put themselves in my line of sight...So i guess its all a matter of consideration for others and personalization.
