Hey my friend has a 97 ( i think) 3000 Gt manual he preety good at shifting but definitly not the best i got a 99 TL stock (untill my comptech icebox comes in a few weeks) what do u guys think will i beat him?

 

Unless he has a VR4, the only TL he has the potential to beat is the 2.5TL. Period.

Findout (or let us know) which trim level he has.

 

^ I agree. I beat down a 3000GT SL 5MT by quite a bit. She had I/E for sure but it wasn't even worth racing. I think my 91 Maxima might give the 3000GT non-turbo a run for its money haha.

 

They were fairly quick in their time, but wouldn't stand up to many of the current crop of sedans.

Really only the VR4 was quick. The SL has 220hpish/205 lb-ft but getting it to motivate its 3,400 lb curb weight was just not happening.

3000gt sl has a 3.0 v6 with 222 hp... i would give the win to the 3000gt

 

I think i can still beat him because of vtec and my icebox
