3 x 3 transmission fluid change
I've contacted both and they don't seem to understand what I'm talking about, even though I've carefully explained the process, showed them guides, etc. They just insist on doing just a simple drain and fill.
Where can I go from here? I'm in the Philadelphia area if that helps.
Edit: I meant drain and fill not flush.

They don't want to do a drain and fill 3 times? Then do it yourself.

What is stopping your from doing it yourself? I don't mean to be rude here either, just curious.
It's just as simple as an oil change, it just might require a little longer extension and funnel to get to the transmission fill bolt. Any money you do end up spending on tools will still be cheaper than the labor the dealership would charge and you will have them for the next time, but I do understand some people are limited by where they are staying and their time and skills.
Edit: Crabman and Thoiboi are too quick for me.

Another route you could go is just let them do the 1x3 and then also do a 1x3 same time as your next 2 oil changes. On our CR-V I never actually did a 3x3 but do periodic 1x3 changes. It's not as good as 3x3 but it is far better than never doing anything. But this is also assuming your ATF is in somewhat decent shape to begin with. If not then find a place that will do the 3x3. IMO you do NOT want a flush if anyone offers it and you DO want to use OEM ATF. There's got to be some indy wrench in the Philly area that will take your money to do it if you show up with 10 qts of Honda ATF ( i think a little more than 3 comes out each drain). Maybe even a co-worker?

They will do a 3x3, which means, you go there 3 times, on 3 separate days for 3 separate transmission drain/fill jobs!
Seriously, just do it yourself, you don't even have to change the filter.

The idea is that you drive between the drain and fills at least 100 miles. I agree with finding an independent shop to do the drain and fill 3 times, with 1 month between drain and fills. If you want to use the dealer, just go back 3 times with at least 1 week or 100 miles between to allow the fluids to mix. I did this with my power steering by sucking all the fluid out of the reservoir and refilling it 5-6 times, same concept. Drive between your 3x3. That might be why the dealer was confused, it would be ripping you off to fill and drain the tranny 3 times in a row without running the car. The same fluid you just put in would just drain out, no fluid mixture would happen, which is the purpose of the 3x3 drain and fill.

What is the going rate for a 3 x 3 transmission fluid change?
It's about time for my first 3 x 3 transmission fluid change on my 2006 TL. I would love to do it myself however I don't have the time or feel very comfortable doing it. I know it's a pretty easy process but I would just rather have a mechanic to do it anyway.
What is the going rate for a service like this? And how would I describe it to my mechanic? Would I just say to drain the transmission fluid and fill it three times? I will be supplying my own fluid (Z1) as this is probably cheaper.

It cost me around $85 at the Acura dealer last year for a 1 x 3 transmission fluid change. I always thought that you shouldn't do the 3 x 3 all at once. Just do the 1 x 3, 3 separate times. Driving at least 200 miles in between each fluid change.

Please if you gonna change the ATF, STAY AWAY from that Z1..... Use the DW-1 ATF they cost $89 shipped for 12 bottles, if you can do oil change then you can do ATF drain and refill. The rate will varies from region to region of the US.
FYI I paid $105 plus tax when I living in CT and its cost me $125 after tax in Houston TX for a single drain and fill.

so I guess I would just pay 3 separate times for it? would it be okay to drive a little more than 200 miles in between?

Many of you questions in your 2nd thread were answered in your first one already.. No need for two threads on the same topic.
