2g tl-s vs 540i
had a quick run with a older beamer 98-03 bmw 540i. i was driving like a maniac because i was getting late to meet someone and i see this guy kept trying to keep up with me. so we ended up getting next to each other at a light. and i knew he wanted a race. so light turns green and we go. im in gate shift mode thru 1st gear it was a tie then when i switch to 2nd i start pulling slowly and by 3rd gear hes at my rear bumper and then he gave up at around 75mph when i had about a car on him.
i was surprised at the outcome because that thing is a 4.4L v8. i realy thought hed take me

Anyways, 540i Autos are pretty quick ..
I had a near full bolt 5AT TL and it was dead even til 105 (50 roll). Good run!

Wait, is there a 545? In the previous gen (to 2010/2011 current) 5 series? Back in the day, when I fully bolted on, I chased a black 545 (or was it a 540?) around an express lane ramp. Going 70, the back tires slid out a bit, but anyways, we ran somewhere from 50 to about 90 and we were almost even, he started pulling away VERY slightly. He was laughing with someone, so I presume he had a passenger, as did I.
Seeing how the 2nd Gen TL-S are quicker than the 3rd Gen TL's, I can see this happening.

Man a 6spd 540i doesnt play though, my boy with his 6spd slammed 540i was racing his cousin in say like a 07 CLs-500 which I was in, man that BMW made me realize that those cars dont play in stick, that shit was right on our ass, and im talkin about it was all pedal to the metal. That 540 was right next to us! And it had no work!!

Oh, and by the way great kill man! I've raced a few M3s, a 335I, and a 740il that surprised the hell outta me from dig to about 45mph when I started to jog away from him.. I was also a shitty launcher when we raced as I had only had my car for about 3 or 4 months at that time....
