2010 Acoord LX or 2008 Acura TL

Guys,

I am currently driving 2010 Honda Accord LX but now I am thinking of upgrading to luxury cars. I have 53000 mileage on the Accord. Do you think 2008 Acura TL will be a good buy? (around 60K miles)

I personally I would prefer driving a 08 tl over a 10 accord. If the accord was EX-L or something than I wouldn't think about it.

There is nothing nice about the 8th gen Accord. Nothing.

Isn't the LX a base model as well?

08 TL

I'd run away from that "Acoord" sounds like some counterfeit "Made in China " replica...

Thanks for the replies.
How many miles 08 TL can run without major repair? And how the maintenance costs compared to 08 TL vs 10 Accord?

Maintenance costs for both will depend on who does the maintenance. I do a fair amount of my own maintenance so it doesn't cost me that much to keep my TL going. When I need something done I take it to the local Honda dealer anyway, so the costs would run about the same as getting your Accord done.

The fit and finish of an Acura is IMO better than a Honda. Things just seem more solid and seems to be more engineering going into an Acura. Some people may disagree lol.

If you own the Accord outright or are upside down on a loan, then keep it. Yes the TL is nicer, but no sense in spending MORE money for an older (albeit nicer) car. If you can make the swap and come out even, then I say go for it.

The difference in power alone will be worth it.
Plus the TL comes in one package, fully loaded. Except for the Navi option.
You'll deal with your share of power steering problems, which is simple enough to fix. Also some ball joints and bushings which is also straight forward without having the flux capacitor talk thrown at you from the mechs.

I was comparing accord V6 EX-L and if you want nav then then finding a 6spd EX-L with nav accord is not that easy. Much easier to find a good TL and most likely cheaper because its a few model years back.

Having an LX accord is NOTHING like a TL imho.

TL for sure!

As for maintenance its comparable... Acura is made by Honda so you get the reliability and any garage can do maintenance on it (unlike BMW, Mercedes).
Many parts are also common with the accord.
