2008 TL Type S - PRICE PAID???

Can anyone tell me what they have bought their TL-S for?

can you also tell me if the price was on a purchase or a lease? not sure if the incenties are exactly the same. Sometimes they have special lease rates, but if you do the special lease rate, you can't use some other incentives..so the price for a lease may not be exactly the same as a price on a purchase...

I have seen some people post here they got a TL-S for $31800 and $32000.

Best quote i was initially given locally was $33,500. Given the posts I've seen, I'm hoping I can do better.

I got mine for 36k OTD from South Coast Acura. Glendale Acura and Sierra Acura (the internet sales manager's name is Jerry Hsu) gave me quotes for 36,xxx OTD as well. This was about a month ago.

The car hasn't had a major change since 2004. Now with the 2009 TL's coming in less than two months to a dealer near you, they need to move these.

Kind of like the housing market. Great time to buy, bad time to sell.........

i sent a nastygram to the local dealer and now the best he is offering is $33,385 + TTL.

I see posts on edmunds.com / inside line forums of people claming $32,500. could 32,500 be BEFORE destination or before some othe rfee..so that their claims of $32,500 are really the same as $33,300 you and I are getting quoted?

or are there dealers who WILL do the lower price??

you guys think it's better to buy or lease given the current APR vs. lease incentivs?

buying at say $33,000 over 72 months at 4.99% = $580/month
leasing wtih MF = .00133 and a 51% residual with MSRP of $38940 (i think that's it) gets a lease monthly payment of $511. (that's INCLUDING CA 7.75% tax).

at the end of 3 years, on the lease, I would have spent about $18,396. the car has a residual of $19859.

if I buy and am 36 months into my 72 month loan, i'll bet I'm basically even or slightly negative. but at end of 72 months, i'd OWN it. i'd have spent a total of 41760. but the car will have a value of say $10,000? maybe $8000. so you have to factor that in.

the guy who leases..nd does two back to back leases of 36 months will have costs of 36792. but never owns anything.

so buying, i spend 41k, but own an asset with a value of 8-10k...so if i then liquidate the car, factoring in the proceeds, the car cost 31k.

the lease cost more. BUT the guy who leased had a two cars..not one that got old.

alhambra acura in southern cal. I purchased mine for 31,8xx plus ttl on May 16th. They would not let me use the 2.9 for 60 rate at that price but were able to get me 4.49 through honda financial for 60.

FYI - i called Alhambra Acura and the sales guy said they would not sell it for 31,800 + TTL.

he said invoice is 35800 and there is 2500 cash back - so they can do 33300. same BS I get from all the dealers.

no offense, but $33k is too much for the car. I can buy a 2007 RL with 10k for about $35k and that's a lot more car than the TL-S..

oh well.

Umm ya, but you're comparing a used RL to a brand new TL-S. not really fair there. I'd wait another month or two and I'll bet the Type S will be dropping in price as the 09 TLs are coming in.

Calling a dealer doesn't mean anything. Show up, appear interested in the car, and you may get the deal you're looking for.

Not knocking the RL....it's a fine car. But it's not" A lot more car" than the TL-S....TL-S is better value for money IMO.

So I could get a used 2007 RL with 12k miles for $32k or a new 2008 TL-S for $33k.
In this case I think you would get a lot more for your money with the RL, but I like the sportiness of the TL-S. I might just have to drive both and decide.

I got mine 2 weeks ago, for $33,200 before TTL. A lot of it will depend on what inventory is like your area. I live in Cincinnati, we have 2 Acura dealers here, they have plenty of base models but not many Type S left. One dealer had 3 of the type s, the other less than 5. Colors are pretty limited, the dealers here only have NBP and the CBP left for the most part, no silver/KBP/WDP. I got the last silver in the city.

The quote you were given is pretty normal for this car.

Yes, it's say it's a fair deal, about what most are paying. If they have the color you want, I'd go for it.
