2008 TL Prices - WTF

I'm looking to buy a low mileage 2008 TL (non-nav) to replace my '00 TL. I've found a number of dealer loaners at Acura dealers with <10K miles for sale in my area. Their asking prices are around 27-29k, depending on the mileage.

Now, this price is about what the Edmonds web site lists at the "True Market Value" for this car and in one case, almost a grand less than the "TMV". Do you think this means that I should not expect much "give" when trying to negotiate a purchase price or have the Edmonds price become inflated. The carfax reports contain no untoward information for any of the cars. I'm thinking that the Edmonds web site hasn't kept up with the effects of the declining economy.

I have to drive 75 miles to buy this car and want to have some idea what to expect before I go. I'd appreciate any and all tips and recent experiences.

Well $27-29K is a bit of a spread, if you ask me I think $27K asking price is fair since Im sure you will be able to get them down a little bit. Keep in mind that you will be getting a certified car as well which provides you with a total of 5yrs/62K miles bumper to bumper and 7yr/100K miles on the powertrain. I believe they have low 3.9-4.9% financing as well. You are basically getting a close to brand new car with a better warranty for considerably less money even if you were to actually pay $27K

Hey Doc,

It's a stretch but lately I've been considering selling my 07 Acura TL w/ Nav. Its WDP with black interior. The car has around 25,200 miles on it, but I do have a 7yr/120 mile Acura Care bumper2bumper warranty that is transferable. I can give you my email address and phone number if you want to know more.

Somebody here locally just got a 2006 for around 21.5.

Kinda wishing he would have bought mine now....considering I would have taken around 18 for mine lowest with mods, two sets of rims...race tires...winter tires....lol.

^Somebody could buy yours, part it out, and make quite a few bucks.

I dunno if its a preference for you, but I would go a 05-06 TL unless you're going for a Type-S. You can easily find a 06 TL with NAVI for 17-21k with decent mileage.

MichaelBenz any reason for selling? Now if you told me this a month ago my friend would've bought it ASAP, but too late :/. Anyways he can't part it out when the supercharger is in it. It would be wierd to have no CAI or pulley with the super charger and other things. I just don't like the black hood

Hi Why do not buy new one? For this price you can get brand new. I would do a little more search. You will see it was worth it

That would be the listing price which you should be able to work down a lot more .. like some of the OP pointed it out, this is fast approaching a 4G TL price ....

Good luck & be patient ...

Be patient, the way the economy is, you should be the one in charge. Make the dealer cater to your price.

Keep searching... I've found some really good deals on craigslist of all places. Also check autotrader, yahoo autos, cars.com, vehix.com, etc.

Dealerships and private party owners are all looking to unload cars at good prices right now.

Thats why it comes with two hoods too! The OEM white one and the black double sided carbon fiber hood. No shit....everything goes with the deal. And of course...OEM cats come with the deal too. Its being sold as a street car...so to follow federal laws it will have OEM cats in the deal too. Works like this...rather than sell it as an off road only vehicle...I will sell it with the OEM exhaust components AND deletes. I will toss the cat delete pipes in the trunk with an appropriate sized combo wrench....if you get pulled over off my driveway with the OEM cats in your trunk and the precat deletes installed...well then....YOU must have changed em out, not me! If you catch my drift. Now how you did that and never got your hands dirty...hell....I dunno.

I might also add though...I have NEVER been pulled over and even asked about exhaust whatsoever...so not to worry.

Check out the new ones. They are giving them away. You should start your search via emails. Send one to every dealer in your area & stick with the fleet/internet manager. I made a deal that was approved & locked before I even set foot in the place. I ended up with a 2008 TL w/nav for $29.5 OTD. The deals are out there you just have to find them.

I agree there are some sweet deals out there if you're willing to dicker with them. I found my new 08 at a Toyota dealer in PA. It was a trade in but and only has 1740 miles on it. They tossed it on EBAY which is where I found it, and had an asking price of 28,900, after holding it with a $500 deposit I was able to talk them down to $26,500 which I feel is a very sweet deal on a car that is basically new with full warranty.

^^ Wow that was a sweet deal. Navi? If so that would be about $9k off the original MSRP.
