2008 TL has no range readout when low on gas??
Every one of the cars I've purchased in the last 5 years have had a digital readout of the estimated number of miles you can drive before you run out of gas (i.e. - Range). Although this car has some fancy "Trip Computer", it doesn't seem to have this basic Range feature anywhere.
Am I missing it? Is it in there?

On your instrument cluster, press the button to "trip computer". Then press the right arrow to see you gas mileage stats. Then I think you press the right arrow again, then it should display how many miles you have left until E.

Or
you could just make sure you never have less than half a tank, because running your car low on fuel is bad for the ECU and the fuel pump.
Not to mention, if you have to make a speedy getaway from a flood, fire, earthquake, tornado, etc. or have to get to the hospital for an emergency, you darn well want as much gas in your tank as possible.
I learned this when I worked at a TV station, the news crews were under orders to fill up the vans EVERY NIGHT before they left work. Lesson learned.

Thanks to all of you. These menus are so complicated to operate. I will look for the two extra keystrokes to get the additional range info.
As far as filling up when I get less than half a tank down, I'll sure do it if another hurricane is in sight. Other than that, it is a big hassle IMHO.
Thanks again!

Be aware, of course, that this is an estimate, which is all it can ever be (consider that you might be averaging 30 mpg, but if you suddenly wind up in a massive traffic jam your mpg will drop very quickly). The TL's "Miles to Empty" feature will read "0" well before you actually run out of gas. That's a well-documented occurrence that you can probably find in the 3G Garage thread.
