What exactly are you trying to do?

The fog lights are controlled by the B-can. The fog light switch merely sends a signal to the B-can. You need to be careful. Those wires are not simply voltage on/off to turn on/off the fogs.

OK, again, this wire doesn't go to the fogs. It goes from the fog switch to the combo switch control unit. (and then in turn from cscu to b-can to control block/relay control module to fog light relay).

Your factory fogs, headlights, turn signals, hazards are all controlled and networked through the b-can/micu. Among other things, this computer control of your lights prevents the fogs and high-beam from being on at the same time. If you start messing with this interface, you could screw something up if you're not careful.

On a US 04/05 TL, it is a blu/wht wire (pin #5) on connector B, a 12-pin black/white connector on the right side of the steering wheel column. It looks like it sends a ground signal to the CSCU when the fog switch is placed in the "ON" position.

Do you want to be able to turn on the fogs and still have high beams on at the same time and do this with the factory switch?

If so, I suppose you could cut that wire to isolate the cscu and b-can from the fog light switch. (With the wire cut, the cscu/b-can/micu will never see a ground signal when the fog switch is ON and will therefore assume that the fogs are always off).

Then you'd need to run that ground input from the switch (the side of the wire that meters a grnd signal with the switch on) through the firewall to the coil of a new 20A relay to control the fogs. (I wouldn't try to tap into the existing relay). That might actually work.....but I have still don't really understand why people want to have fogs and high beams on at the same time. Just seems like a lot of work for that.

you know your stuff, maybe i can bypass the control unit and still use the factory switch, i don't know i'll have to search more into this, i really don't want a random switch in the car

I'd recommend you purchase the Electical Troubleshooting Manual from helminc.com for $47. Based on what I see in that manual, you can bypass the control unit and still use the factory switch, but it will require running wire/s through the firewall and adding a relay.

How can I do this? Bypass the control unit and use the factory switch.

I bypassed the oem foglight switch because it stopped working after I tried doing to full control of fog lights mod. There is a a second switch set up now with a relay tapped into the fog light (directly into to the bulb wires) under the hood after the fog light control/relay.
When I turn on the factory fog light switch I still get an indicator light on the dash.I want to tap into that from the oem switch since the relay no longer gets power to it and have it turn on some LED strips. Is it the same wire color for a 06 TL? Would I cut the wire and run it to the positive of my LED strips and just ground the negative of the strips or am I way off course?
