2007 TL Type S Maintenance Question

I might be feeding into my own paranoia with this, but long story short, I was planning on having my oil changed this past friday, but due to circumstances that didn't happen. My next available day to do this is this Friday. My MID just got to 15%. Been around 5150 miles since it was last changed.

This will be my first time changing the oil on this car since I purchased it, and I've usually been pretty punctual with scheduled maintenance with my past vehicle. I will probably be driving an additional 65-70 miles until Friday. Do you guys think this should be fine?

It SHOULD be fine but dont quote me. The biggest factor is what kind of oil is in the car, which since you haven't changed it before you wouldnt know. If the car had synthetic, I believe you can go 5-7k safely.

I would check the dipstick and just make sure the oil isnt really low. If not you should be fine.

should not have any problems-I own a 06 tsx-I get about 650 miles per 10% oil life. I usually get the oil changed between 5%-0%. My car now has 123K+miles. I do check the oil and never had to add any.

i wouldn't follow the MID anyway. Engine and oil technology has improved greatly over the past few decades, and the days of changing it every 3k are long gone.

Do you know how many miles it reached for you?

You'll likely be fine but since you don't know what type of oil (conventional or synthetic) the other owner used, I'd switch to a good synthetic on your next oil change. Lots of information can found by searching.

Also, regardless of how many miles you have, you're likely due for a transmission, brake and power steering fluid change.
