If anyone has a line on a BlueTooth/HFL module I am looking to buy a used one. My TL Type-S has 299,000 miles and I dont want to pay $400 from the dealer for a poorly designed part for my elderly car. The part fits off a 2007 or 2008 part #39770-SEP-A62ZA. The last 3 digits maybe different depending on the color of the interior but doesnt matter. This will be my 3rd module and I am very surprised that Acura did not fix the issue as the new units in the same way and kill your battery as they go bad.

 

There is a thread elsewhere on this forum which indicates the much improved HFL from a 2010(ish) TSX works in our 3G TL cars; not only is it more reliable, but allegedly it adds a few new features as well. If/when the HFL in my 2006 fails, that will be the route I follow.

 

Wait really? The 2010 TSX unit is a direct fit? What about the changed connector in 2007-2008 TLs?

After searching here and on eBay, it looks like the 2010 TSX and the 07-08 TL share a connector, but the 04-06 TL is off on its own unless the pinning can be swapped.

 

Very interesting, I’ll have to remember this next time mine starts killing my battery.
