Question 2007 TL A-Spec or Types S???

I'm trying to decide between a TL Navi A-Spec and a Type S with 18" Inspires.
The two price out about the same but are two very different cars.

The TL A-Spec will look better (IMO) with the more aggressive F/R/S spoiler kit and drop, firmer suspension, A-Spec wheels and blue interior lighting which I prefer. Overall I'm thinking this will look better.

The Type S will be a faster, have better brakes, somewhat firm suspension, better tranny with paddle shifter, ANC, nicer tail lights. I'd add 18" Inspires to get rid of the hideous stock wheels. Overall I'm thinking this will be a sportier ride.

Thoughts? What would you do??

You will feel the npower of the car from where you will be spending most of your time with the car, from the cabin. And that is where the car really lets you have fun. Unless price was a factor, there really is no advantage to the reg tl over the type S.

Can the Type S be lowered with the existing suspension?

Too rich for me (or for a TL). I'd like to keep this real.

Regarding the kit, do the A-Spec panels seem more pronounced than the Type S? It appears the Type S has gone with some middle ground. True?

That is real... You're shopping for a hot model 2007 in 2006... Get you pocket book out if you want new.

Standard TL is selling for MSRP of $34-35K + TTL = almost $36K. assuming you're adding the A-Spec kit by the dealer, that's at least $6K = $42-43K OTD for an 07 TL A-Spec

TL-S is also getting MSRP of $38K + TTL = almost 40K. Unsure os TL-S ASpec kit, but assuming it has the same components (wheels tires, suspension, kit) it'll be $5-6K = $45K+ for a TL-S A-Spec. That's real

There are some HOTT used 04-06 TLs for sale in the Black Market for under 30K, some already hooked up with superchargers and such.

It's a no brainer to me... Good Luck

07 A spec body kit only fits the Type S, wheels and shocks are still available for the reg TL

I'm pretty sure you can get an A-spec kit for the base TL too. I saw them on eBay.

Ah, only SOME of this is accurate. Some people ARE getting discounts on the new TL-S. One guy in here got around $2K off MSRP off a new, no frills 07 TL-S. Maybe he had a good relationship with his dealer?

I've got a price of 2K off either the TL Navi or Type S, hence the dilema:
Good looking A-Spec or Good riding Type S?

I myself have had the same dilema you are now experiencing. I have decided to order a TL-S Navi but have the A-spec body kit put on. IMO, the A-Spec kit looks more agressive.

Are you going for the 18" A Spec wheels too?
I feel Acura should have given buyers a choice of upgrading the wheels (and not simply buy another set)

you could go for the TL-S and buy the A Spec suspension separate. I bought mine off ebay for $600 and installed it myself. Best $600 I ever spent.

would buying the a-spec suspension and installing it seperately void the warranty?

I've seen quite a few cases of the TL-S going for $36K or less already. I don't think anyone is paying MSRP. Even carsdirect.com has been quoting $1,651 below MSRP here in California for a month now.

automatic tl type s with the body kit = 45,000 about...and yes it's quicker, but i wouldn't say by much; we'd still be able to keep up...hha

50k?? no way dude. folks are buying TL-S's 2-3k off of MSRP- add in a discounted A-SPEC kit from Tim and your no where near 50k.

I'd say get the TL-S w/ a 6MT.

I was soooo tempted to get those rims with my new TL-S (Moroccan Red), but my dealer wanted > $3000 for them with the summer tires. Ugh.

Maybe down the road I'll upgrade...or go for the new Legends...

That's HOT. How much did your you get the wheels for? I'm assuming the dealer gave you an incentive? My dealer asked if I wanted any accessories @ cost but, stupidly, I declined.

I just bought the TL-S in black/black last week and absolutely love it! The extra HP is very nice, and those Brembo brakes are incredible.

07 TL-S,..... don't waste your money or time on an A-spec suspension......if anything swap in some TEIN's instead and find a body kit on EBAY or schmooze with the ACURA parts dept. and they'll cut ya deal on a body kit!

This is true. My wife works for an Acura/Honda dealer and they are discounting the TL-S. For anyone who buys an A-spec kit for $6K, I have some land to sell up in the Yukon Territory.
