Hi, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trading their 2007 TL-S headlight housings with my 2007 TL housings. I really like the look of the TL-S headlight.

I've seen some prices of them brand new and they are rather expensive, and I don't think a dealership would be willing to trade me a set for my original ones.
Unless someone knows of a dealership/vendor that would do so??

My headlights are OEM and never taken off/apart and in perfect condition. If anyone is interested or could help me in my search please PM me! Thank you for reading!

Definitely. I was hoping that someone with the TL-S headlights liked the TL version better ( who knows, right? ). Or, if they were going to do a custom headlight upgrade anyway, and if it didn't matter which housing they started with.

Under the parts catalog, both go for the same price. I'm currently trying to look for a set that could have been parted out from a wrecked TL-S where the front end is still intact.

what is the difference between the type s lights and the base?

 

Why dont you just do a custom job on ur base tails? You'll save money and time haha

Type S have kind of a smoked effect and have DRLs built in

 

I think the 07 base TL and TL-S have the same headlight design and components, and only differ in the chrome/black reflector area around the two lenses. Also half of the reflector plastic is clear/white on the TL-S, where as on the base it is all orange.

I thought about asking someone to "blackout" the headlights I have, but I wanted to avoid having to open them and risk debris, dust or oil film getting on the inside of the headlight housing. Also I wouldn't be able to drive while I had them worked on.

Is the the little chrome strip on the 2007 TL-S headlight tinted/smoked as well?

 

I looked at them on Acura's website and flipped back and forth between the two and couldn't really find any major difference. If you didn't point out how the orange running lights are 'shorter' on the Type-S I wouldn't have noticed. I do like it, so I looked up the price on AcuraOEMparts.com - $433!!!!! EACH!!!?!?! Wow, that's quite a bit, but I guess they come with the HIDs already in there (I sure as hell hope so). I don't need it that bad, haha.

There is a big difference, if you cant see the difference, clearyl you havent searched through photo gallery much, or been on this forum that long.

im in Pasadena, Ca ( quite far from New Jersey )

You can see the difference in the headlights here.. base TL has chrome surrounds around the projector circles. Type-S has black matte look.
Reflectors on baseTL are entirely orange. Type-S has 60% clear, and 40% orange.
I can't tell if the chrome bar is darker, but from what I can tell, it isn't a smokey color. The lack of the chrome just makes the entire headlight look darker I guess?

 

you sure that's an 07 base TL? looks '06 to me
