Hey guys, I wanted to know if I can install a type s front bumper for my base tl? Would I need to do any slight modifications? Let me know of any info you guys have, before I go spending my money for a Type S front bumper.

I know there is probably a thread about this somewhere, but I searched a while, and couldn't come up with anything. It's gettin late and I gotta do hw, but I also gotta figure out what to do about my car, (which needs a new bumper.) Please understand and point me in the right direction?

direct bolt up.

 

Someone else told me you might have to drill some holes as it wasn't a direct bolt-on. I would like to know from someone who has one installed too....

 

This has been discuss numerous of times guys. It will bolt up with NO modifications, NO drilling new hoes, NO crazy voodoo ritual in order to place it on the car. It would help if you have a second hand in order to align it right.

 

I'm asuming it matches up with the base fogs, and I'll just need the type S bumper grills. Right?

 

Correct it fits perfect type s grills or aspec kit. I did this to my 05 tl.... But you have a 07 with fogs shouldn't it be the same as type s?????

 

They are very similar, but the Type s has chrome trim, honey comb style grills, and the fog light grill area aims downward, where as the base is upward aimed.

 

You will need the type-s lower grills. Your fogs will fit.

found a new one for super cheap from a dealer, for $216 +shipping 11$ (un painted obviously.) Meanwhile gunna sell my base bumper.

 

The only thing you have to order is the bumper and lower fog grille's.

You can use your upper and all the silver trim with no issues.

The lower trim will not fit into the cuts on the fog surrounds, but it doesn't really look out of place since it lines up with the silver trim.

 

Just go buy the type s aspec kit and put it on your base like i did! DONE!

How do the fogs fit the same if the base point upwards and the type s point downwards???? ????

 

They are just angled slightly different in the bumper on the type s, same fogs.

I like the chrome grille on your 04. I have an Base 06 which has the brushed chrome grille. Can I put the chrome grille like yours in my Base 06.

I have a 08 type S bumper on my 04 TL. For a 04-06 Bumper you will need to find a 04-06 chrome grille.
