I had my car up on the lift earlier today at work and was double checking Acuras power steering hose job. They left a sensor that goes to the power steering unplugged.. I will be giving them a call tomorrow.

I was checking my power steering hose earlier and it seems like mine is already leaking and may start a fire soon... Good thing I'm getting the recall done

Scheduled (on-line) for next Saturday. Not sure if they have parts kits; I'll have to call 'em tomorrow.

08 TL Base. input my VIN# on myacura.com and it says there's no recall for it... How hard is it to create a VIN# database for all 07-08 TL

Pretty sure they have one of those database-thingys. That's how you looked up your VIN and found it wasn't on the recall list, right?

Some '08's might have been made (or fixed) after the initial problem was found and don't need the recall.

Are you saying you're getting conflicting information? The dealer says 'yes', the recall database says 'no'?

acura of riverside because thats where i go to school. I dont usually like going to sierra acura because they only do loaners if your car is there for multiple days

As noted in an earlier post, the myacura.com database hasn't been updated yet. Don't go off of that. Call Acura or your dealer.

In 08 I got my 04 TL and about 6 months after having it I had taken her in for the first oil change and they did this on mine. Interesting that it's come back up again and just for 07-08's when the first recall included all 04-08's.

There were some cars, particularly Type-S's, that were excluded from the previous recall but are included in the current recall.

I also have an 04 and this was done on mine back in 2008. I also am confused as to why the previous recall didn't include the TLs being added in this 2nd recall.

Dropped mine off this morning.

I'm driving a brand spanking new TSX. 180 miles on it when I picked it up this morning. Very nice car.

So I went to acura yesterday for an oil change. While I was speaking to the service agent I asked him about the recall. He said that the fix was already done on my car so I asked him when (since ive only owned it for a year) He says it dosent say when but it does say that the computer only shows that it has been completed. Can this be true or do they just not want to do it?

That's strange, what are you driving?

From what I can tell, it is all the Type S' that are in this recall since the base was covered before? Do any base TLs show recall needed online now?

I checked my VIN# on the acura website here: http://owners.acura.com/Maintenance/Recalls.aspx

I have a 07 Type S (at) and it was not included in the recall online. I called my local dealer and it is included. Make sure to double check personally with a local dealer and not just online.

To be safe you can also call multiple local dealers for peace of mind.

Made my appointment for next week. GL

^ This was already mentioned here.

For the US folks, it seems like the online db isn't up to date so call your dealer, while the CADs can see that a recall is needed but not the details.

Normally the dealer will want to do recall/warranty work. If their techs are good they can do most jobs under the flat-rate time. That means the dealer makes ('extra') money on recall/warranty work.

Look up the TSB. When a recall is done the VIN plate is punched in a certain place - the TSB will tell you where. If the VIN plate isn't punched, I'd question whether the recall was actaully completed.

Is that a US only thing because I don't see any hole punches on my VIN

Fair question. I don't know, but I'd think that Canada gets the same repair instructions as US vehicles - at least substantially the same.

You could call another dealership and ask them to run your VIN for recalls.

Had the same PS Hose problem with my 2008 TL non type-S, and my VIN# wasn’t on the recall list. The dealer told me this was fixed in the later produced TL’s and that's why some VINs aren’t included in the recall. After calling Acura USA they got the dealer to cover it under the recall. The fix is replacing the hose, O-rings, re-route the new hose, and added a heat shield. . I guess some folks at the Acura Plant missed the Piece of Sh*t Hose memo.

Got mine done today. I doubled the miles on the 2012 TSX they gave me. I picked it up with about 170 miles on the odometer.

chances are that they won't have the new ILX given out as a loaner right? most likely a TSX?

Got mine done today. And got the same loaner car as most members, TSX, too bad the guy before me got the last V6.

Also, please take the time to inspect your hose, even if you are not on the recall list. I checked mine and sure enough the hose looked just like paperboy's hose. The dealership got it done in roughly 4 hours. Last, the dealership I went to had to order the parts and it took about 4 days, so call-in ahead of time.

Work completed yesterday, nice 2012 Acura TL Tech as a loaner. Ok ride, but still like my 3G TL-S better.

Just got mine back, and a TSX Tech as a loaner. OK car, but I certainly like the feel of my Type-S better.

Just to ensure they did everything correctly, is this what others' receipts look like? I want to make sure they didn't miss anything.
