2006 TL Leaves me with a TINGLE - Vibration

Description of the problem:

There is vibration. This vibration is a high frequency vibration, coming from the engine. Vibration is annoying enough that it leaves ones feet and hands with a tingle after some minutes of driving. Vibration is felt by driver and front passenger. Driver feels vibration on the accelerator pedal as well as by the left foot when placed on rubber pad on the front left. Sometimes this vibration can be felt on the steering wheel.

The vibration is felt when vehicle is shifted into neutral while driving. Vibration is also felt with vehicle stopped engine running in Park position. Vibration frequency increases as engine accelerates while driving or in neutral or parked.

The engine sounds perfectly normal, acts normal, develops acceleration properly, does not idle low – engine seems totally ok. The transmission seems normal as well – there is some vibration caused when engine goes from 4th to 5th gear but this is normal. Acura has fixed the tire related vibration caused by replacing 2 El42 front tires by road force balance on all 4. Turning on or Turning off the AC does not seem to have any impact on vibration.

Is the the problem here is engine mounts ???

Vibration is not being isolated properly. I understand that one or more vibration mounts is hydraulic where stiffness is controlled by a valve which may be controlled either by vacuum or electronics…not sure …just trying to be as descriptive… in asking the question.

There is definitely some problem related to excessive vibration of the high frequency variety, being transmitted into passenger compartment, that seems engine related and does not seem to be related to chassis or suspension or the moving of the vehicle....although I have been told that Vibration helps blood circulation and that I have a massage option at no extra cost...I would like to turn the massager off and get this problem fixed....any ideas...would welcome. Vehicle has 8K on odomoter...visiting Acura with problem today.

Yes Mounts

Dealer ...confirmed problem....agreed vibration was real....(he did not recommend that I buy gel asics to isolate vibration from feet)

Acura Dlr replaced solenoid that controsl vacuum to rear hydraulic engine mount and this did not fix the problem. They are replacing both mounts....will find out if this fixes problem.

Dealers approach to solving problem makes me loyal to Acura....problems happen but if you help customers then I'm with the program...definitely will buy Acura again...hope this gets solved.....MDX in Site.

Again I think it is mounts....PLEASE SUBMIT ANY IDEAS....so I can suggest as action items for dealer.

I have this vibration too but i brought it up last time and they say they can't feel anything. I will tell them to check it out next time and look at the mounts

Vibration Remains 2006 Tl

Changing engine mounts including the solenoid that controls the valve did not fix the problem. I'm wondering whether this is AC related. Any input from members of this forum will be greatly appreciated.

Have they tried to isolate the exhaust system? This pretty much entails loosening all engine mounts, and loosening the exhaust system where it bolts to the exhaust manifolds. Then you run the engine to 2000 RPM in neutral, 2000 RPM in drive with your foot on the brake (engine loaded), then 2000 RPM in reverse engine loaded. The theory is that by moving the engine in both directions with nothing bolted to it, you allow the engine to "sit down" in its most neutral spot. Ive done this on cars with high frequency vibrations with a fairly good success rate. Though it is most effective on cars that have the vibration at idle and especially in gear. Other things worth checking for would be the harmonic balancer for any damage or separating, and ANY of the accessory drive pullies for damage or a foreign material stuck to them (throwing them out of balance). Good luck and let us know what they find

Im starting to think that its the engine itself producing the vibration. Meaning the engine is not balanced so it produces vibration
