2006 Fog Replacement
Hey guys,
I'm looking to replace my stock fog bulbs with really powerful white or blue light bulbs. How can I go about doing this? Any bulb recommendations?
Thanks.

I'm interested as well. I don't like the stock yellowish lamps no matter what they tell me about fog conditions and how yellowish is better. I'm in the LA suburbs and run into fog about 2 weeks out of the whole year. Also, I saw someone mentioning the interior lights switch out by the dome, and door panel lights. Whats the recommendation on those as well?

As far as the whole interior lighting goes, I'm interested in that as well and came across this huge thread about it after using the seach bar. Try doing that but I'm working on figuring out what bulbs are required where. Will let you know as soon as I find out.

I just (2 weeks ago) the interior lighting explained in
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ghlight=lights
it took me all of 20 mins. The visor lights were the hardest.
As far as the 06 fog lights go, i have searched all over here and have not yet found a blue or white replacement mod.... I'll end up taking the old one out and asking the guy at the auto store about it.

I actually think Johnny--2k did this mod or PPLAW. I'm pretty sure one of them did. I guess I'll PM them and see what I can come up with and let you know bmode.

Hey,
I figured I would respond here. Basically, when changing the bulb, it's straight forward, unless you go to an HID for the fogs, then you have to wire them in with ballasts and such. Otherwise, a bulb is just plug and play.
As for the controls, you will not be able to control them with the switch on the stalk, if you use my instructions (click the link in my sig for details) then you would have to run a switch in line with the power wire coming off of the parking lights to have separate control.
The way I have them run now, they go on as soon as my parking lights go on, and they stay on, in other words, I cant turn them off with the headlights. The switch on the stalk has basically become usless since I have essentially bypassed it. If I wanted to have separate control, I would wire in a new switch to the wire from the parking lights, basically interrupting that power flow that is going to the fogs.
Again, just click the link in my sig for instructions. It's a fairly easy mod as long as you feel comfortable with very minor electrical work.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
John
BTW, I am running Raybrig fogs, not the nokya's any more. Those were replaced when I burned one out....

Johnny--2k, I checked out your instructions. They seem semi-confusing but I'm sure that taking a look at all this stuff may make it seem a bit easier. Hopefully.
Raybrig fogs...what color output is that? Would you recommend them? How do you access the fog bulb though?

Good stuff all. Now getting the LED's is the real trick. I don't like the EBAY thang, and stores are easy to return, are there any auto retail stores that have the W6 LED's that you know of? The previous link page to purchase the W6 LED's is too confusing.

Once on the site, click Xenonmatch Bulbs at the top of the website. If your car is an 04-06 you need the 9006 size bulbs. Not sur eon the 07 bulb size. Bulbs are 30$ a pair. The output of the bulbs are very bright and have just the right amount of blue/ white hue to match the factory HID's and get rid of the ugly yellowish color. The do also offer an endurance bulb wich is pure yellow for real life fog purposes.

The above Michiba LED's are a little too blue for me. I've had them in for 3 days now, and I'm feeling a little disco-ish. A shade or two whiter would be much better. Don't get me wrong, they're better than the stock yellowish tint, but reading any literature in the car with the blue-ish LED's is a little too funky for my taste.
Is there a model with a more white-ish hue?
