2006 to 2008 m35 vs 08 TL auto

ive driven a 2006 infiniti m35x (auto) and it feels great off the line and also great from a roll. i looked up 0 to 60 times and saw times comparable to a 2008 base auto TL, which surprised me becuase the m35 felt like it was a little quicker. what do you guys think would win off the line and also from a roll... say about 50-60 roll? thanks guys

Well it's not surprising that it feels faster since it has more torque thanks to the extra displacement. But it's also heavier. I don't know, I say it will be close.

It felt quicker off the line because of what iforyou said, it has more torque...but not sure about displacement, aren't they the same? 3.5 liters each? Also with the AWD you can launch it pretty hard even on street tires and it shouldn't spin, giving you the impression of more power off the line that it actually has

You should win from a roll, roll runs = kiss the AWD advantage goodbye, say hello to multiple differential parasitic losses! Not to mention the M35X is quite heavier.

The OP has a TL, which has the 3.2L engine. The TL-S has the 3.5L.

we have no freaking low end torque...probably take us off the line
50-60 i'm pretty sure we'd take it - 2nd gear at 50...go go go!

Bottom line.....and anybody that has driven any 3.5L infiniti will agree with me. Infiniti's have the best take offs. Thats one reason I love Infiniti, their takeoff is just so good. If the TL-S wasnt so great I would go for a Inifiniti. Considering the 4G TL and how that thing looks, my next will defenitly be a G37.

Those M35x's run high 14's. I believe I have seen 14.6-14.7 for the RWD M35.

I love the M35/M45 Sport, I actually considered one a couple years ago when my TL was only a year old (I have an 05 TL) for some reason I wasn't feeling those HUGE tail lights though and that was the only reason I did not go for one, well that, and the fact I LOVE my TL. For 2008 the refreshed the exterior of the M35/M45, outcome= the tail lights are smaller but now they look weird for some reason, anyone know what I mean?
